Liberals won’t see this as a big deal. They’ll say no Republican member of Congress should have a platform because they’re all racists and sexists and whatever else.
But what liberals don’t understand is that stifling any speech (whether they agree with it or not) is not only unconstitutional, but it is bad for every American.
Twitter, the far left-leaning platform that it is, is taking censorship a step too far. And the worst part is that more outlets will likely follow in their footsteps.
From Right Scoop:
In a ridiculous move, Twitter has suspended Grabien Media for literally quoting Congressman Andy Biggs for a video they published on their site:

Next-level @Twitter absurdity. My company’s account — @GrabienMedia — was just suspended for … quoting a congressman (@RepAndyBiggsAZ) pic.twitter.com/b2WqArtPrs

Obviously, in this case, quoting an elected leader on an issue that matters to everyone is important and newsworthy, regardless of whether you agree.
(And I can’t help but add that his basic point was once mainstream among progressives.)

I’ve appealed, making this point. However I have no confidence in Twitter doing the right thing and acknowledging this tweet did not violate its terms & conditions. pic.twitter.com/UwFet4NBdo

If they can censor the most powerful man in the entire world, then there’s no problem whatsoever when it comes to silencing you.
And guess what? They did censor the most powerful man on the planet.
Do you get where this is going? It’s not good.
Social media giants went on a censorship rampage since the riot at the Capitol, banning groups left and right (but obviously not left).
And now that Democrats have control of the House, Senate, and White House, the First Amendment has seemingly taken a serious hit on a daily basis.
Don’t forget: Joe Biden has already appointed a lot of Big Tech people to powerful positions within the federal government. It’s all connected, one way or the other.
From Breitbart:
Twitter has permanently banned the account of the president of the United States, Donald J. Trump.

Silencing people, not to mention the President of the US, is what happens in China not our country. #Unbelievable

Here’s Twitter’s excuse…
After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.https://t.co/CBpE1I6j8Y

In the context of horrific events this week, we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action. https://t.co/NrANZJcAfo

Our public interest framework exists to enable the public to hear from elected officials and world leaders directly. It is built on a principle that the people have a right to hold power to account in the open. https://t.co/ZcbhDEAYjH

However, we made it clear going back years that these accounts are not above our rules and cannot use Twitter to incite violence. We will continue to be transparent around our policies and their enforcement.

Toward the end of the Trump presidency, a number of social media networks began exploring ways to lessen the Commander in Chief’s ability to communicate with the nation.
Facebook took another step toward canceling 45 altogether, banning anything considered to be “in the voice of Donald Trump.”
From Fox News:
Facebook removed a video of an interview with former President Trump conducted by his daughter-in-law Lara Trump, saying any content “in the voice of Donald Trump” would be scrubbed from the social media platform.
Facebook permanently banned the former president from their platform in January after the Capitol riot.
On Tuesday, Lara Trump, a Fox News contributor, posted an image on Instagram of her sitting across from her father-in-law, urging followers to “Join us tonight!”
Facebook was adamant.
A group of Trump officials were sent an email from a Facebook employee, warning that any content posted on Facebook and Instagram “in the voice of President Trump is not currently allowed on our platforms (including new posts with President Trump speaking)” and warned that it “will be removed if posted, resulting in additional limitations on accounts that posted it.”
“This guidance applies to all campaign accounts and Pages, including Team Trump, other campaign messaging vehicles on our platforms, and former surrogates,” the email, posted on Instagram by Trump’s son, Eric Trump, stated.
The move raises further concerns about the political bias and power of platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, and the ramifications of their actions on the First Amendment.
