A Louisville BLM activist has just been identified by the Louisville Metro Police Department as the suspect in the attempted shooting of mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg. Activist Quintez Brown, 21, was just charged with attempted murder and four other counts of endangerment after Brown was reportedly linked to the attempted shooting of Democratic mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg.
According to LMPD, Brown allegedly fired multiple shots into Craig Greenberg’s campaign office on Monday. The police report would state Greenberg was unharmed but a bullet did graze his clothing. The gun that was used in the incident was a 9-millimeter handgun.
Brown was arrested after an officer saw him walking in attire that matched the shooter’s description. After Brown was searched police discovered he was in possession of a loaded 9-millimeter and a bag of magazines too. Surveillance video of the shooting also led officers to believe that Brown was the shooter.

Mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg who was almost fatally wounded told WRDB:
“All of us are blessed, and I’m blessed to be standing here today with you. Despite one bullet coming so close that it grazed my sweater and my shirt, no one was physically harmed and we are extraordinarily grateful for our safety,” Greenberg said. “We are shaken, but safe.”
Greenberg previously publicly stated that if he’s elected then he would create a community friendly police force. Family members and friends are shocked by Brown’s arrest. The Courier-Journal where he interned while a student at the University of Louisville was also in disbelief. On December 15th, 2021 Brown announced he was running for Louisville District 5 Council and even uploaded a campaign video to his Twitter account, take a look:

The motive of the shooting is still yet unknown but Brown’s Twitter account could give away hints on why he reportedly attempted to kill Greenberg. In several tweets, Brown celebrated “Black Communist Revolutionaries” and the Black Panther Party which was a Marxist-Leninist Black Power political organization. In other tweets, Quintez showed support to other Communist and Socialist leaders throughout history. Here’s a tweet from Brown last month:

Last year Quintez Brown made national headlines after he went missing for 2 weeks. He was eventually found but his family didn’t release a statement about his disappearance. His family however did release this statement that was reported by the WLKY which read:
“Thank you to everyone who has spent time, energy, and love over the past eleven days searching for our son, Quintez Brown. We are blessed to say that we have found him. He is with his family and he is safe. We are asking for privacy and would appreciate everyone’s patience and support while we tend to the most immediate need, which is Quintez’s physical, mental and spiritual health.
It appears his disappearance had something to do with his “mental health” but that could not be confirmed. At the height of his disappearance, several rumors were floating around that he was killed by police officers because of his activism which ended up being 100% false.
