Journalism at one time was a crucial part of holding our government and those committing criminal acts in local communities accountable, and in the public eye.
Unfortunately though, many in their industry have shifted over to pushing propaganda, creating daytime shows like The View, a long-running roundtable conversation, featuring a group of far-left-leaning women.
On February 2nd, The View host Whoopi Goldberg was suspended after saying the Holocaust involved “two groups of white people”.
The actress and TV personality said on ABC’s The View that the Nazi genocide of the Jews was “not about race”. She apologized but then caused further offense while attempting to explain her remarks on a late-night show.
Now, one of Whoopi’s co-hosts, Joy Behar, is saying that she may choose to wear a mask in public indefinitely because it’s “not safe” to go maskless.
Behar was responding to a report saying the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was considering easing its guidance on mask-wearing after case counts of the coronavirus nosedived.
On Thursday’s show, Behar said she would continue wearing masks because the CDC has given contradictory guidance on masks in the past.
“Personally, I listen to the little voice in my head that doesn’t really follow a hundred percent what they tell me because they keep changing it,”
“So like, a very short time ago they were saying put the N95 masks on, make sure it’s on, and now they’re saying you don’t have to wear them anymore. So if I go on the subway, if I go in a bus, if I go into the theater, if I go into, where else would I go? A crowded place, I would wear a mask, and I might do that indefinitely,”
“Because why do I need the flu or a cold even?” she concluded. “And so I’m listening to myself right now. I mean, I don’t think it’s a hundred percent safe yet.”
Co-host Sunny Hostin added that kids were either not allowed to be vaccinated yet or remained unvaccinated, and she was worried about future effects of the coronavirus that might not be understood already.
Dr. Laura Wright disagreed with the other hosts and cited death statistics to bolster her argument that parents and others need to make their own risk assessment about whether to wear masks.
“We need to weigh risks. Tradeoffs is a basic thing that we teach,” said Wright. “We need to be able to be adults about this. Why should you have to make decisions like this? Why has the messaging been so inconsistent?”
Here’s the video of Behar’s mask comments:
The confusion displayed by the View Hosts is a result of the confusing and conflicting recommendations, in spite of the data, coming from the CDC and NIH.
CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said Wednesday that the organization was reviewing its guidance in light of new statistics.
“We want to give people a break from things like mask-wearing when these metrics are better, and then have the ability to reach for them again should things worsen.”
On Thursday, flip-flopping Dr. Anthony Fauci said it would be “risky” to allow children to go maskless at schools given the possibility that cases may rebound or that a new variant may arise, even though the risk of children dying, from COVID, is almost statistically at zero.
