Elon Makes His Move – Joins Twitter Board of Directors; Changes are Being Planned

Breaking News: Elon Musk is making good on his promise to try to fight for free speech. Parag Agrawal, CEO of Twitter, tweeted, “I’m excited to share that we’re appointing
@elonmuskto our board! Through conversations with Elon in recent weeks, it became clear to us that he would bring great value to our board.”

Business Insider reported:

“Through conversations with Elon in recent weeks, it became clear to us that he would bring great value to our Board,” Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal said in a tweet. Musk, meanwhile, said he is “looking forward to working with Parag & Twitter board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months!”

On Monday, Twitter revealed in an SEC filing that Elon Musk bought 73.4 million shares of the social media company. This news comes just days after Musk polled his followers, asking if they believed that Twitter “rigorously adheres” to the principle of free speech.

Musk’s 9.2% stake in Twitter now makes him Twitter’s biggest shareholder.

Days ago, Elon Musk seemed interested in starting a new platform. Why the sudden flip? Why would Elon want to buy shares of the social media platform with whom he is not happy?

NBC New York writes:

“Musk has not spoken specifically about any Twitter rule changes he might push. He tweeted Tuesday that he wants to make “ significant improvements to Twitter in coming months! ” Late Monday he launched a poll asking whether users want an edit button, misspelling “yes” as “yse.”

In March, Musk told his millions of followers on Twitter that he was “ giving serious thought” to creating his own social media platform, and has clashed repeatedly with financial regulators about his use of Twitter.”

After the news broke on Monday, Twitter’s stock price surged 27%. That is a substantial shot in the arm for the company! Elon has already made about $1.1 billion from his Twitter purchase since buying it in mid-March.

Ever the fan of a cryptic tweet, Elon tweeted, “Do you want an edit button,” in an apparent reference to changes to the Twitter platform.

Gizmodo wrote a piece on the edit remarks.

“On Monday night, Musk asked his more than 80 million followers if they wanted an edit button and started a poll to gather responses. While the action seems innocuous, the tech mogul is known to use polls to guide or foreshadow some of his major decisions. Considering the revelation earlier on Monday that Musk had bought a huge stake, or 9.2%, in Twitter last month, becoming the company’s largest shareholder, it’s clear that he can have a say in the social network. Yet, whether he plans to demand change or not is still unknown.”

Who knows what will come out of this, but at the moment, social media is ablaze with the news. There are many opponents and proponents of Elon’s strategic move.

Given that President Trump’s social media site, Truth Social, is struggling to get off the ground, Elon has yet to prove that his strategy will work better.

Let’s hope that changes will be made to allow voices that have been shut down by the alt-left agenda to be heard again.
