If Joe Biden leaves a legacy, its main focus will undoubtedly be a coin-toss between America’s record inflation levels under his presidency or his innumerable public gaffs.
Yesterday, gaff-machine Biden treated the world to another corker when during a trip to Asia, he met South Korea’s new president Yoon Seok-youl for the first time.
Biden and Seok-youl toured a Samsung micro-chip factory last night in a bid to strengthen trade and cooperation between the United States and South Korea.
“This is an auspicious start to my visit, because it’s emblematic of the future cooperation and innovation our nations can and must build together”, said Biden as he walked around the Pyeongtaek factory.
The president was given a brief explanation about how semiconductor wafers are producers and a representative from a Californian-based company, KLA was there to explain which parts of the technology were American-made components.
I just saw Biden touring the Samsung plant in South Korea.
He has NO idea where he is, or what they are talking about!
He SHOULD visit Taiwan too & tell them the USA has their back!
He won’t. Meanwhile the USA continues to collapse! pic.twitter.com/MrOD3SLTx7

“Don’t forget to vote, Peter,” said Biden to KLA’s spokesman after the tour. “You may live here [South Korea], but don’t forget to vote”.
Embarrassingly, the president then turned to President Yoon to thank him for hosting the vist:
“And President Moon – Yoon – thank you for everything you’ve done,” Biden stumbled. Yoon’s predecessor was president Moon Jae-in although it’s not really clear if Biden was mixing the two up or simply slurring his words again.
In this brief visit, misnaming the country’s president wasn’t the first faux-pas either. Earlier in the tour, Biden had mispronounced Taylor, Texas, where the South Korean tech company plans to invest billions. Instead, Biden called it Tyler, Texas.
Biden has become notorious for making embarrassing mistakes and slips. From calling Kamala Harris his first lady to referring to Michelle Obama as vice president, it seems whenever they wheel Biden out he’ll make some kind of cringe-worthy slip-up.
Speaking of slip-ups, remember when the president’s legs turned to jelly as he walked up the stairs of Air Force One?
This trip marked Biden’s first visit to Asia as president. He landed at Osan Air Base on Friday evening after a brief stop to refuel in Anchorage. Presumably this time he was able to get off the plane without falling down the stairs.
It comes after Biden’s string of problems on home soil, including the record-breaking high in inflation, rising food prices, and a nationwide shortage of baby formula.
White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said the trip to South Korea was designed to strengthen America’s relationship with the country and to send a message to aggressors in North Korea:
“This could cause the United States only to increase our fortitude in terms of defending our allies and cause adjustments to the way that our military is postured in the region”, said Sullivan.
“As far as the trip is concerned, I think all it would do is underscore, it would underscore one of the main messages that we are sending on this trip, which is that the United States is here for our allies and partners. We are here to help provide deterrence and defense for the ROK and Japan. We will respond to any threats and any aggression decisively.”
