San Francisco Schools Drop “Racist” Word From Job Titles. World Is Saved.

It’s almost as if California sees what the rest of the country is doing, then sprints in the opposite direction.

Just as wokeness and political correctness start to get beaten back by companies like Walmart and Netflix and by people like Ricky Gervais and Dave Chappelle, California says, “hold my kombucha,” and takes woke silliness to the next level.

The San Francisco Unified School District is at it again and this time they are saving the Native American population from the horrors of employees who have “chief” in their job titles.

That’s right, “chief” is being cut from SFUSD’s vocabulary so as not to trigger Native Americans who have gone all these years living with the horrors of the SFUSD having 13 chiefs amongst its workforce. According to the district’s “Division chiefs” page, that includes 12 female chiefs and Chief of Labor Relations Daniel Menezes holding down the fort for biological males.

That is real, I swear. The question is, “how”? Ok, that was a cheap joke. Very sorry.

For real, though, why? Did someone complain? Who could be so delicate, so self-absorbed that they contacted the San Francisco school board and demanded the racist “chief” be removed?

It’s almost as if, at this point, citizens are trolling these organizations to see if they can get them to react. Predictably, they often do! Never mind that “chief,” used in this context, doesn’t even have the origin they think it does!

“While there are many opinions on the matter, our leadership team agreed that, given that Native American members of our community have expressed concerns over the use of the title, we are no longer going to use it,” SFUSD spokesperson Gentle Blythe told the S.F. Chronicle.

Native American members of the community? I’d be keenly interested to see how many. Was it an organized group trying to use their voice for change? Or was it “Jeff” trying to be an a-hole to see if he can get the board to do what he wants.

Either way, it’s lunacy of the highest order.

Of course, what can you expect from San Francisco? It’s a rotting piece of moldy fruit, desperately clinging to the vine. It shouldn’t be looked at as any shining light of good ideas.

This is a district that took old Abe Lincoln’s name off a school. Honest Abe and his stovepipe hat! Oh, and he freed the slaves. Forgot about that. It doesn’t matter! Racist!!

Then there was this nugget. The SFUSD Arts Department dropped its acronym because “acronyms are a symptom of white supremacy culture,” only to find out that the guy calling for the end of acronyms uses acronyms on his Instagram posts. 

Though they might have a point there, NASCAR is an acronym, and there are a LOT of white dudes there. And Bubba Wallace. But so is NAACP, so never mind.

Full disclosure, my wife works in education, and she has chief in her title. I will be very sad to let her know how racist she is. I mean, despite the fact that she is part Native American. Whatever, she can’t be allowed to dishonor her ancestors like this.

I wonder if the title “assistant TO the regional manager” is being used.
