The sky is falling, according to global elites at The World Economic Forum (WEF), who just finished their annual conference in Davos, Switzerland, ending it on a bleak note about the planet’s future. According to Klaus Schwab and his ever-growing cadre of unelected overlords, we must pivot our eating habits and switch from consuming meat protein in favor of vegan alternatives.
These vegan alternatives include grains and seaweed, algae, cacti, and even avocado seeds alongside a host of other “climate beneficial foods” and meat-free protein sources that will save the planet from destruction.
Why the need for the change in how humans have been eating for millennia? According to the WEF, the current food system is responsible for a third of overall global CO2 emissions, so there is no time like the present to change a personal diet. In addition, a plant-based diet may keep thousands of wildlife species from extinction, the group said, according to Breitbart. However, there appears to be no mention of the havoc that wildlife overpopulation would wreak on the environment if this new eating plan were adopted en masse.
By 2050, we’ll have 10 billion mouths to feed – on a finite planet.

The ongoing food crisis is also a reason to switch to eating plants, according to the World Trade Organization (WTO), whose Director-General featured on a WEF trade panel at Davos, urging the world that the crisis is real and not going anywhere.
So if you are listening to this unelected and unaccountable body that no one asked for and want to drastically change your regular shopping list from what you want to eat to what they tell you to eat, then the WEF has made it easy by presenting a starter list:
- Algae: combining their carbon-negative profile with sustainable sourcing, algae have the potential to change the food system for the better while being good for your health, thanks to their essential fatty acids and high vitamin and antioxidants content. Although they may not appeal to the most squeamish consumers, algae actually possess a meat-like, umami flavor that makes them an ideal replacement for meat. They can also be dried and minced to obtain healthy salt-like condiments and dressings.
- Cacti: a wide variety of cacti are edible and contain high amounts of vitamins C and E, carotenoids, fiber, and amino acids. Cacti stems have long been part of the Mexican culinary tradition and are now starting to enter the international market through new, delicious concepts.
- Uncommon grains: if you don’t feel like revolutionizing your diet with unusual ingredients, you can opt for a more gradual change by diversifying your sources of carbohydrates. Despite the existence of 21 different families of grains, rice, wheat, and maize make up more than 50 percent of global cereal consumption. Opting for diverse grain varieties (like amaranth, fonio, or buckwheat) will not only provide you with more nutritional value but also help improve soil health and preserve biodiversity.
This announcement comes on the heels of Bill Gates’s just last year encouraging Americans to start eating synthetic beef after he was caught waiting in line for a cheeseburger made from actual animal protein. Also, that same year Gates’ became the country’s most prominent owner of farmland after he purchased 14,500 acres of land in Washington State, making his total ownership of land a staggering 242,000 acres.
Despite heavy Internet sleuthing, there doesn’t appear to be a list of what food was served to 2,500 Davos delegates. Also unknown is whether the WEF followed its own dietary recommendations and ate cactus.
