Amber Heard is reportedly broke and has said she will write a tell-all book to help her fund the $8 million she owes Johnny Depp after losing the infamous defamation lawsuit.
Earlier this week, candid photos of Heard shopping at discount store TJ Maxx set social media alight, with many accusing the actress of, well, carrying on the ‘act’ and staging the whole scene in a sympathy plea.
But today sources close to the Aquaman star told the MailOnline that she is “broke” and looking for a way to make some money.
Hollywood executives have all indicated both Depp and Heard are too hot to handle after their prolonged and drama-filled episode in court, in which Depp successfully sued his ex-wife Heard for defamation after she published an article in the Washington Post accusing him of physical abuse – allegations which Depp denied.
According to the inside source, Heard, 36, believes her “Hollywood career is over” and has “nothing else to lose” after her embarrassing defeat. Fans were bemused and highly critical of Heard’s antics in the courtroom.
Not only did she lose out financially, but her slew of strange faces, hammy story-telling, and random outbursts like “my dog stepped on a bee” and “[Depp] convinced the world he had scissors for fingers” made the young star into a laughing stock the world over.
Through her lawyer, Heard admitted she can’t afford to pay Depp the $8.3 million in damages she owes. She was filmed browsing for clothes at discount store TJ Maxx in New York – although why she couldn’t have just bought some new shirts online is a mystery.
If anything, the idea that Heard will write a tell-all book feels more like a final act of revenge than a desperate attempt to make a quick buck.
Speaking to Dateline, she said she felt victimized by “hate and vitriol” and seemed determined to continue to accuse Depp of abuse, despite the jury finding her guilty of defamation:
“I know the scariest, most intimidating thing for anybody talking about sexual violence is not being believed, being called a liar, or being humiliated,” she said.
“This would be a really lousy way of getting vengeance. As silly as it is to say this out loud, my goal is – I just want people to see me as a human being.
“I look forward to living my life and I have a long one, I hope, in front of me. And I will continue to walk through this with my chin up.”

Lawyers and law experts have warned that Heard could very easily land herself in hot water again if her tell-all book touches on anything remotely defamatory against Depp.
New York divorce lawyer and author Dror Bikel said Depp’s legal team will undoubtedly be paying close attention:
“Depp and his attorneys will be reading and listening to everything that Heard states,” Bikel told OK!
“If she crosses the line, which is likely, there is no question that will be hit with another defamation suit and end up right back in court.”
