Former vice presidential candidate and governor of Alaska Sarah Palin pulled off a 10-point victory in a special primary for the state of Alaska’s only congressional seat over the weekend.
Seriously, who had Sarah Palin suddenly making a political comeback on their bingo card this year? You know this news is going to grate on the nerves of Democrats from coast-to-coast, which makes her big win all the more delicious.
According to a report from The Daily Caller, the special election is actually the first round in a two-part election series designed to help fill the empty seat left behind by former Congressman Don Young who passed away.
Young, who was actually kind of the opposite of his name, being 88-years-old, passed away suddenly earlier in the year while aboard a commercial flight from Los Angeles to Seattle.
Not long after Young’s passing, Palin expressed that she was interested in running for his congressional seat, according to the Daily Caller report. Ten days later, she officially announced her candidacy.
And there’s little doubt the endorsement from former President Donald Trump helped draw in the support Palin needed to clinch a victory in the race.
“Palin ran against an eclectic, forty-eight-person assortment of primary opponents, which included everything from Nick Begich, the co-chair for Young’s 2020 reelection campaign, to St. Nick. With roughly 72% of votes reported as of Sunday night, NBC and others have called the race for Palin at 29.8%, Begich at 19.3%, Al Gross at 12.5%, and Mary Petola at 7.5%,” the report said.
“While several states have experimented with different forms of elections in recent years, Alaska’s special election primary is the first top-four congressional primary in U.S. history,” the Daily Caller said.
The official Twitter account for Palin posted a message celebrating her win, saying, “I’m looking forward to the special general election so we can highlight our ideas for fixing this country by responsibly developing Alaska’s God-given natural resources, getting runaway government spending under control, protecting human life, protecting the right to keep and bear arms, and restoring respect for individual liberty and the Constitution.”

Palin is now all set to take on Begich, Gross, and Petola once again in the special general election scheduled to be held on Aug. 16, 2022.
This is definitely setting Palin on a path of potential vindication after all of the abuse she caught from the mainstream media and liberals in America back when she was the running mate for the late Sen. John McCain.
News organizations, the same ones who slammed the GOP for allegedly having an anti-women, war on women agenda, ruthlessly made fun of Palin for the way she talked and tried hard to paint a picture of her being a dumb, backwoods hick. Which wasn’t even remotely true.
Imagine the chagrin on the faces of people like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez if Palin ends up becoming one of her colleagues. That will be worth it all right there.
