Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted sex trafficker and former girlfriend of mega creep Jeffrey Epstein, should probably be very concerned for her safety after what her cellmate has just revealed.
According to her attorneys, the cellmate has claimed that she has been offered money to kill Maxwell, a report from TheBlaze stated.
“One of the female inmates in Ms. Maxwell’s housing unit told at least three other inmates that she had been offered money to murder Ms. Maxwell and that she planned to strangle her in her sleep,” Maxwell’s attorneys went on to claim in a court filing Wednesday. They said that the inmate who made the threat has been moved to a separate housing unit in the Brooklyn prison where Maxwell is incarcerated, “presumably to protect Ms. Maxwell.”
“This incident reflects the brutal reality that there are numerous prison inmates who would not hesitate to kill Ms. Maxwell — whether for money, fame, or simple ‘street cred,’” the lawyers then stated in the filing.
Not to sound like some sort of psychopath or something, but can anyone really blame the inmates for wanting to cut Maxwell’s time on earth short? This is a woman who victimized underage girls and who aided in the sickening business practices of a deranged sex fiend. The kind of things these two engaged in for years is beyond sick and twisted.
We all know that people who do the sort of things that Maxwell has been accused of typically do not last long in prison. Even folks in jail know that messing with kids is messed up. It’s a line you do not cross.
“Maxwell, a British socialite, was convicted in December for sex trafficking a 14-year-old girl during her time as a close associate of infamous billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. Her July 2020 arrest came years after investigations and litigation against Epstein, who allegedly operated an underage sex trafficking ring and raped dozens of underage girls,” TheBlaze reported.
Epstein was found dead inside of a Manhattan prison back in April of 2019 while awaiting trial for his own perverted sex crimes. His death was officially ruled a suicide, but to be honest, given the extensive clientele he catered to — which included some of the most high-profile celebrities and politicians in places of power — a lot of folks believe he was silenced.
It’s a theory that makes a lot of sense. There were many powerful people he could squeal on in exchange for some sort of plea deal for a reduced sentence. However, a lot of those on the list didn’t want that information coming out, so they had plenty of motivation to knock him off.
“In their sentencing brief, Maxwell’s lawyers argued she should receive a lighter sentence for her convictions based on the alleged death threat and multiple other grounds, including her ‘difficult, traumatic childhood,’” the report continued.
“Ghislaine Maxwell is not an heiress, villain, or vapid socialite. She has worked hard her entire life. She has energy, drive, commitment, a strong work ethic, and desire to do good in the world,” her lawyers said.
Her attorneys then claimed that her dysfunctional relationship with “an overbearing, narcissistic, and demanding father made her vulnerable to Epstein, whom she met right after her father’s death.”
You know, there might be some truth to that. However, we are each responsible for our own actions. Maxwell did not have to participate in crimes she clearly understood were wrong. No excuses.
“It is the biggest mistake she made in her life and one that she has not and never will repeat,” the lawyers stated.
Maxwell’s legal team is currently trying to get a sentence that’s below the 20 years that has been recommended by the court’s probation department, according to a report from the New York Times.
The former girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein is scheduled for sentencing on June 28.
