The world’s most popular podcast host, Joe Rogan, is apparently a big fan of Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and thinks he would make a most excellent president.
Not sure why I did that last bit like Bill and Ted, but I’ll just roll with it, knowing you will too, because you absolutely want the details on what Rogan, perhaps one of the most critically important voices in modern culture, had to say about DeSantis and his potential as president.
According to TheBlaze, Rogan made his comments about the 2024 presidential election on the Tuesday edition of “The Joe Rogan Experience” with cancelled Disney actress Gina Carano, who, by the way, is no longer “cancelled” thanks to the Daily Wire.
“So, all this stuff is happening while we have a dead man as a president,” Rogan went on to say, delivering a massive verbal body slam to President Joe Biden.
“Are you throwing out any support towards anyone or are you gonna hold off?” Carano then asked the podcast host concerning the upcoming 2024 presidential election. “Didn’t Elon Musk come out recently for DeSantis?”
Carano was making a reference to billionaire and new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, who was formerly a lifelong Democrat who stated he’s leaning toward supporting DeSantis for president as the potential 2024 Republican candidate.
While DeSantis himself has not yet publicly stated he would be running for president, he did say he’s dedicating his time and energy to his re-election campaign in Florida.
Rogan said he likes the idea of DeSantis taking on Biden in 2024.
“I think Ron DeSantis would work as a good president,” Rogan said during his conversation with Carano. “I mean, what he’s done for Florida has been admirable.”
“I feel like I’m doing breaking news right now that wasn’t even on purpose,” Carano replied, laughing.
Rogan then dropped some big praise for DeSantis and his leadership during the pandemic.
“I feel like what he did for Florida, a lot of people gave him a lot of grief, but ultimately he was correct,” Rogan explained. “He was correct when it comes to like deaths, he was correct. And when it comes to protecting all vulnerable populations, he was correct in terms of distribution of monoclonal antibodies.”
“He was furious when the government tried to pull those, they were trying to pull very effective treatments. You know, he is not perfect. He’s a human being, but, um, what he’s done is stand up for freedoms,” he continued.
“People think that, that this was some weird gaslighting shit that went on where people equated freedom and saying the word freedom to like right-wing bigotry and hate is so strange,” the podcast host said.
“DeSantis rose to national prominence in 2020 largely because of his steadfast refusal to impose statewide mask mandates or enforce shutdowns in response to the pandemic. Democrats and mainstream journalists accused the Republican governor of putting people in danger, but DeSantis ignored them and fought back against false media narratives, winning widespread approval among Republican voters,” TheBlaze reported.
People want someone to run for office who has a backbone and makes the values he lives by clear, which isn’t something we’re used to seeing from politicians. This has made DeSantis stand out big time.
Guess we’ll have to wait and see who the GOP primary field will be comprised of before we can establish who will be a clear favorite.
