After a sensational seven-week trial that was defined by disturbing allegations of abuse hurled by both sides, a jury awarded Johnny Depp $15 million on Friday to win his defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard. The case had been brought against Amber Heard by Johnny Depp.
Besides awarding Depp $15 million, the seven-person panel, which was made up of two women and five men, came to the conclusion that Depp had slandered Heard through the representation of his attorney. They decided to compensate her with $2 million in damages overall. The $2 Million however is just a drop in the bucket compared to Depp’s $15 million win.
