Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is no joke, which is a lesson that a British journalist learned the hard way after the congresswoman told the unidentified journalist to take a hike back to the U.K. if she has a problem with our Second Amendment.
A report from the Daily Caller revealed that Greene, speaking at a press conference at the Capitol on Wednesday, stated that it was her “job to defend the Second Amendment.”
And yes, it most definitely is her job to protect the Second Amendment and all of the other rights protected by the Constitution. That’s the whole point of having an elected official.
The British journalist mentioned above then went on to say that the United Kingdom doesn’t have mass shootings. And this was that individual’s first mistake. Picking a fight with MTG on the subject of guns is probably a bad idea.
“We don’t have guns in the U.K., that is true, but we don’t have mass shootings either. And our children aren’t scared to go to school,” the journalist said.
“You have mass stabbings, lady,” Greene fired back. “You have all kinds of murder, and you’ve got laws against that.”
When British press wants to argue about our God-given American gun rights, my answer is: “go back to your own country.” pic.twitter.com/QrcA9Apbet

“Nothing like the same rates here,” the journalist continued.
“Well, you can go back to your country and worry about your no guns,” Greene stated, clearly in no mood for attitude. “We like ours here.”
You know that stung, being humiliated like that in front of your own colleagues. But the whole encounter does raise an interesting question. We don’t tell other countries how to handle crime and how to govern their people on similar matters. Why does the United Kingdom feel it necessary to do that with us?
Maybe, after all these years, they are still feeling the sting from when a bunch of farmers with pitchforks and rifles kicked their butts back across the ocean? Hmm…
“The Senate voted Tuesday night to advance bipartisan legislation on gun control that includes “red flag” laws. The package includes $750 million to help states implement, in part, “extreme risk protection order programs.” These laws allow a court to confiscate a firearm from an individual who is believed to pose a threat,” the Daily Caller report said. “The laws have received pushback from Republicans who claim they are unconstitutional.”
“Republican Senators who voted to back Red Flag Laws are traitors to the Constitution and our country,” Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz posted in a tweet.
At the end of the day, the Second Amendment exists to protect our right to own a firearm so that we can preserve our liberty from tyrannical government. Yes, it also provides protection from criminals and murderers, and sure, it could help us repel an invasion should some country be stupid enough to try that, but ultimately, its purpose is to help us defend freedom from our own government.
So, yeah, we really do like our guns here. Anyone who has a problem with that is free to take Greene’s suggestion and find another place to call home.
