Eric Adams is the latest, and perhaps greatest in a long line of failed Democrat mayors. Lori Lightfoot, Eric Garcetti, London Breed, Ted Wheeler. Honestly, I could do the entire article just listing names of abject failures that are ruining our larger cities.
To Adams’s credit, and his credit line is very low, at least he is pretending to be outraged by the decay and danger happening around him.
Crime is rampant, no one is being prosecuted, and criminals are acting on their whims with impunity. What does Adams have to say? Who does he blame?
The New York Post says:
Mayor Eric Adams lashed out at prosecutors and judges Monday for cutting loose suspected shooters to unleash more gunfire on the Big Apple’s streets — saying the “bad guys no longer take them seriously.”
The clearly frustrated mayor also fumed that soft-on-crime policies were turning the city’s criminal justice system into “a laughingstock of our entire country.”
During a news conference with NYPD officials in Brooklyn, Adams praised cops for being “laser-focused on the shooters” and making arrests but demanded that “the other team must do their part.”
“The courts have to prosecute. Judges have to make sure they stay in,” he said.
Ya think Eric? So Eric Adams is mad at the prosecutors and judges? Who is the MAYOR? If New York City is a laughingstock, do something about it. You are the boss!
“Everyone has to do their part. If not, they go out and come back.”
Adams, a former NYPD captain, added, “And you know what’s interesting? You do a profile, the picture that’s emerging after the shooting, after the arrest, after being let go — You know what they do? They go do another shooting.”
I have to be honest, the stupidity on display here is stunning. If you let criminals just generally do whatever they want, then guess what? They are going to do what they like to do, which is commit more crimes! There ya go Eric, solved that for you.

“People no longer believe that you can’t do a shooting in the city,” he fumed.
“No one takes criminal justice seriously anymore. These bad guys no longer take them seriously. They believe our criminal justice system is a laughingstock of our entire country.”
Adams added: “We have to get serious about this ’cause innocent people are dying.”
The mayor also blamed Democrats in Albany for failing to amend the state’s bail law and impose a “dangerousness” standard to lockup defendants pre-trial who’ve previously been convicted of serious or violent crimes.
Well Mayor Adams, when you have a track record as a city of just letting people get away with whatever the heck they want, guess what the bad guys are going to do. They are bad guys for a reason.
This type of outrage is curious, as Democrats generally want to blame anyone besides themselves when it comes to crime and the general failed policies they institute.
Perhaps Eric Adams, a former cop, is finally embarrassed enough to go back to his police roots and start to get tough on crime. Until then, as I’ve done my entire life, I’ll be leaving the Big Apple off my summer vacation destination list.
