Apparently, the White House is still considering mailing out a bunch of gas rebate cards to help ease the suffering of millions of Americans struggling to come up with the cash to fill up their tanks as the price of gas continues to rise up into the stratosphere.
Because the government still has not grasped the simple economic reality that we do not have the funds to bail folks out unless we print more Monopoly money, which then increases inflation, which then causes prices to go up.
It’s a never-ending wheel of complete and total misery perpetuated by a group of people so mind-blowingly stupid that you could supplant them all with chimpanzees and our country would be in better shape.
Fox Business reported that President Joe Biden is now considering a number of different options to provide relief to the American people for the high price of gasoline, which, as stated above, includes gas cards.
Or, and I’m just spit balling ideas here, we could just open up the Keystone XL Pipeline and start issuing more drilling permits so that we can end our dependence on foreign oil. That would start dropping gas prices fairly quickly.
“The president has made clear that he is willing to explore all options and hear all ideas that would help lower gas prices for the American people,” a White House official went on to tell Fox Business.
“No decisions have been made,” the official continued.
“In March, The Daily Wire reported that the White House held off on sending out taxpayer-funded pre-paid debit cards after receiving pushback from Democrats on Capitol Hill, who were worried the idea would never work in providing economic relief in the face of high fuel prices,” the Daily Wire stated in a recent report.
It was being reported, at the time, that Biden’s team, along with other Democrats, were thinking about falling back on their favorite strategy and just printing more stimulus checks, raising gas taxes on oil companies in order to produce funds for a means-based assistance system, and rescinding federal oil leases for companies that don’t use them.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t stimulus checks the reason we are in this mess to begin with? We printed billions of dollars to help people out during the coronavirus pandemic because the powers that be shut everything down — for a virus with a 99 percent survival rate — and businesses started dropping like flies.
That caused inflation, and boom, here we are.
And they were actually considering doing it again? Seriously? Apparently, your IQ only needs to be the shoe size of a toddler to get a job in Congress.
“In March, Axios reported that the Democratic caucus laid out to the White House why the gas cards were a bad idea. The Democratic leaders allegedly argued that the plan would be expensive and poorly targeted, could worsen inflation, and wouldn’t be all that effective. Axios also said that the group was worried that the distribution of the cards would be a slow process that could hamper the IRS in the middle of tax season,” the Daily Wire reported.
A report from the Washington Post released on Friday stated that aides for the White House were also having issues with the gas card plan because of a shortage of microchips our country is now having to deal with. Others were afraid that citizens wouldn’t use the cards for gas.
As of Friday, AAA reported that the average price of a gallon of gas in the U.S. is $5.00.
I think we need to fire everyone in Congress and just start over from the beginning.
