The Amount Of Taxpayer Money Man Who Threw Elderly Woman Down Stairs Gets Each Day He’s Not In Treatment Is Infuriating

A man who has been accused of throwing a 62-year old woman down a flight of stairs at a train station located in Seattle in March during a random attack is now going to receive $250 per day, provided by taxpayers, for each day that he is not in treatment.

This should be incredibly shocking, but given the utter insanity we’ve seen over the last several years, this doesn’t surprise me. Though it does make my blood boil and smoke roll out of my ears.

A piece published by TheBlaze has revealed that Alexander Jay was charged with second-degree assault for the attack, local news station KCPQ-TV stated, going on to add that Jay was also charged with first-degree assault for a stabbing that happened at a bus stop near the same train station on the same day as the other assault.

It seems to me this guy is a danger to society and as such, should be promptly locked up and the key flushed down the toilet.

” In April, Jay was ruled incompetent to stand trial and ordered to spend the next three months in an inpatient facility until he understands the charges made against him, the station said,” according to TheBlaze. But it’s been more than 100 days, and since the state still hasn’t placed Jay into an inpatient facility, his defense called for his release,” KING-TV reported

So the next logical question is why the man has yet to be placed inside a facility?

There are no available beds.

“The only reason it has stalled this long is that the government has not provided him a bed to get well in. That’s barbaric. That is not the behavior of a civilized society, and I find it extraordinarily offensive and heartbreaking,” King County Superior Court Judge Johanna Bender went on to say, according to KING.

The report went on to say that the state estimates a bed for Jay likely won’t be ready until the middle of August.

TheBlaze has a few more details:

With that, Bender found the Department of Social and Health Services in contempt of court for failing to admit Jay to treatment, calling it a violation of his constitutional rights, KING added.

Jay will remain in jail due to the severity of the charges against him, but Bender also ordered the state to pay him $250 per day for each day he remains out of a treatment facility, KING added.

Those charges began accruing May 9, KCPQ reported, adding that taxpayers likely will have forked over more than $17,000 to Jay by the time he gets a bed in a facility.

What’s really sad and scary is that DSHS officials spoke with local news authorities and have said this particular situation isn’t all that uncommon. In fact, there are currently 400 folks in jail who are waiting for beds with the DSHS.

And this isn’t the first time Jay has been in trouble with the law. Far from it, actually.

TheBlaze is reporting that court documents reveal Jay has a record as far back as 2000, adding charges of home burglary, assault, attempted assault, and domestic violence to the ones he currently faces.

“Kim Hayes, the woman who was tossed down the stairs at the train station, pleaded with the court Thursday to keep Jay in jail, KING said,” The report revealed.

“He will harm someone. I am absolutely 100% sure of it. If he gets back out he will, he will repeat offend, and I have absolute 100% assurance – I know that that will happen,” Hayes stated, according to the local news station.
