The Rolling Stones have always been infamous for their wild lifestyles. Still, as Sir Mick Jagger prepares to celebrate his 79th birthday this July, and with the loss of the band’s original drummer Charlie Watts to a heart condition last year, the aging rockers will prepare for shows on their upcoming tour a little differently.
According to The Sun, Mick Jagger, 78, Keith Richards, 78, and Ronnie Wood, 75, will switch the cigarettes and whiskey for yoga classes, workouts, and a recovery room backstage at every show to ensure the rock n roll legends are ready for their usual high-energy performances.
The Stone’s first European tour since the death of the band’s drummer Charlie Watts in 2021 will kick off at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, Spain, this [Wednesday] evening.
“Mick likes to work out with his personal trainer before each show, so they have a fully equipped workout room ready for him,” a source told MailOnline.
“And Ronnie and Keith have a special ‘tuning room’ where they jam and play together, and Mick will join them for a warm-up session before they head out on stage.
“This time preparing and getting ready allows them to be at their very best for the crowds.”

The Sixty Tour will include numerous European venues, including Sweden, Spain, and Hyde Park, London, where, in the 1960s, the Stones famously released thousands of white butterflies in a tribute to the death of their late band-mate Brian Jones. He had drowned in his swimming pool during a party.
According to Stones insiders, Jagger, whose energetic dance routines during shows have become a staple part of the Stones’ performance, has always taken health and fitness very seriously despite the band’s bad-boy image.
The son of a school basketball coach, Jagger told Celebrity Daily Routine that he maintains his 28-inch waist and high levels of stamina by sticking to a strict low-carb diet of fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grains, and fish and by working out for three hours a day, six days a week.
The rock legend also performs ballet, weight training, sparring, jogging, and stretching.
“I train five or six days a week, but I don’t go crazy,” he said in 2021.
“I alternate between gym work and dancing, then I do sprints, things like that. I’m training for stamina”.
Notorious for his wild drinking and drug habits, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, who once bragged that he had snorted his father’s ashes with cocaine, has also said that he’s slowed down on his whiskey guzzling, opting for the occasional, sophisticated glass of wine.
“I pulled the plug on it. I got fed up with it,” he told Rolling Stone in 2021.
“It was time to quit.”
“But I don’t notice any difference really – except for I don’t drink. I wasn’t feeling [right]. I’ve done it. I didn’t want that anymore.”
Richards’ fellow guitarist Ronnie Wood quit alcohol in 2016 ahead of the birth of his twin daughters, Alice and Gracie Wood, followed by a cancer scare two years later:
“I was lucky to get on the wagon when I did and was ready for all the stuff that came at me, cancer and all that. Luckily it was all in one place and I had it removed. I got my life again – I got a second chance and my little girls and my whole life now is so much better. I think Keith is seeing that kind of thing as well“, said Wood.
The band was reportedly in high spirits as their private plane, adorned with the band’s name and logo, touched down in Spain earlier today ahead of their sell-out gig later this evening which is expected to draw in an audience of around 64,000.
