Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger made an appearance on Fox News Tuesday where she took some time to explain that she doesn’t want any help from President Joe when it comes to her campaign.
She didn’t stop there. Spanberger later bragged about outperforming the president, throwing massive shade in his direction.
That’s how unpopular Biden has become, folks. The people in his own party can’t stand him and are starting to look at him like he’s political poison. Which, of course, he totally is, a point that is obvious when you look at his pathetic approval rating.
According to a story published by TheBlaze, Fox News host Dana Perino spoke with Spanberger, informing her that the Cook Politico Report revealed that the district she’s currently campaigning for in November, which is the freshly redrawn 7th Congressional District in Virginia, is now a “Democratic toss-up.”
During the interview, Perino went on to ask Spanberger if the president would help her campaign. She made it very clear that was not going to happen.
“I intend to do the campaigning myself. I am the candidate. It is my name on the ballot,” Spanberger stated. “Certainly, when I first ran, I ran in an R +7 district. And I won in that seat by getting out, speaking to voters, making sure that they know who I am and what it is that I intended to do for them.
“In 2020, [I] ran for re-election and certainly outperformed the president on the ballot by telling the people what I had done and what I was going to continue to do,” she continued.
What’s really interesting is that during an earlier portion of the interview, Spanberger wouldn’t say whether or not she would be supporting Biden if he runs for reelection in 2024. Given her comments later about Biden helping her campaign, something tells me she probably won’t.
“I’m looking squarely toward 2022 and the re-election ahead of me, working to make sure voters across Virginia’s 7th district know what I’ve been doing on their behalf and why I’m asking for their vote again,” Spanberger commented, tapping dancing around the question like her name was Gene Kelly. “I’ll be focused on 2024 after we get through the 2022 elections.”
This isn’t the first time that Spanberger has found her name in headlines. Back during the 2020 election, she put her fellow Democratic colleagues on full blast after they decided to throw their support behind the highly impractical and massively stupid “defund the police” movement, which like many radical left-wing ideas, is totally out of touch with the vast majority of Americans.
“We have to commit to not saying the words ‘defund the police’ ever again,” Spanberger stated during a post-election phone call she had with the Democratic caucus. “We need to not ever use the words ‘socialist’ or ‘socialism’ ever again.”
“If we run this race again, we will get f***ing torn apart again in 2022,” she prophesied.
With each passing day, the current administration seems to be losing more and more support from the folks within the Democratic Party. Biden is sinking not only the country, but apparently progressives too, with all of his horrific policies and the impact they are having on everyday voters.
Funny enough, those policies come from the very progressive ideology that liberals are still trying to push, making them a house divided against itself. You can’t be a progressive and be angry with Biden for doing exactly what your principles require him to do. That doesn’t make sense.
Guess the left hasn’t figured that out yet.
