Former NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal has proven that he’s a classy dude by reportedly treating an entire restaurant full of people to dinner the other night by picking up the tab which was worth $25,000 at the establishment after making an appearance with a “mystery woman.”
Man, it would be so cool to have something like that happen to you. It’s the perfect kind of story to share with the grandkids one day. Unfortunately, where I’m from, nobody famous would dare set their foot, so the chances of me having one of these super awesome encounters are less than zero.
Shaq, 50, who is now a sports analyst, arrived at the Chelsea hotspot Jue Lan Club located in New York City, according to the Daily Wire, with an unidentified woman, whom he was overheard calling his “date,” according to sources who spoke with Page Six in an article published on Tuesday.
After the pair finished up their meal, Shaq then reportedly paid for dinner for the entire service team at the restaurant.
“And to top that off, he paid for everyone’s check [who was] dining at the restaurant,” the source went on to say. That’s just pure baller, baby. Pure baller.

“The outlet noted that O’Neal wanted to keep his treat to the 40 tables of patrons a secret until he had left the restaurant,” the Daily Wire reported. “Sources said the bill amounted to ‘well over $25,000.’ The source also told the outlet that Shaq was “extremely generous” to Jue Lan’s staff.”
“He left them the biggest tip they’ve ever received,” the source continued.
The Daily Wire also said, “The sports analyst followed up his generosity the next day when he showed off a newly refurbished basketball court where a boys and girls club he used to be as a child in his hometown of Newark, New Jersey, through the help of his foundation and corporate sponsor Icy Hot, Fox News noted. O’Neal initially renovated the court back in 1992.”
“This court is for you guys,” Shaq went on to tell the folks at Fox5 New York. “You guys can just come out here and follow your dreams, and take it from me, you can be whatever you want to be. I’m you — I’m not the guy that was the smartest in school. I’m not the guy that was most popular. I’m you. We come from the same place.”
Back in February, Shaq once again demonstrated his cool factor by surprising the Collins family, comprised of 11 members, with not just one brand spanking new vehicle, but TWO, according to ESPN.
“Today Shaq blessed us like never before,” the Collins family stated in the caption for their post on social media. “Last night we had a surprise visit from Shaq. He took us to dinner as a family at babes chicken. It was so much fun to just hang out and eat dinner with him.”
The post pointed out that the NBA legend picked up the bill for another table’s meal before handing the waitress a $1000 tip after finding out her vehicle broke down that day.
Shaq is a good man who is using the blessings the good Lord has gifted him with to make a difference in the lives of others around him. He has no idea just how much he is changing things for folks by going above and beyond in these acts of kindness.
