A 17-year-old boy, who is planning to join up with the Marines after he graduates from high school, is being called a “hero” after he jumped into action to save a woman whose car took a plunge into a body of water.
Young people catch a whole lot of flak these days — much of it is deserved since they have been brainwashed by the progressive education system — which makes it extra awesome when you see that there are still some out there who have their heads on straight.
According to a report published by Today, the woman, who has been identified as 18-year-old Mia Samolinski, accidentally hit the gas in her vehicle instead of the break, which sent her plunging into the Patchogue Bay located in Long Island, New York, on Tuesday evening.
The heroic teen boy, Anthony Zhongor, saw the whole accident and jumped right into water, pulling Samolinski to safety. This is a good kid, folks. Most people would probably just watch and pull out their phones to record the whole thing while doing nothing to help the woman.
Talking about the incident, Anthony stated, “I heard a huge splash and saw everyone running toward the dock. I don’t know what happened. She was trying to open the door, first. She couldn’t get the door open and started banging on the window.” the teen went on to add, “Dying, being stuck is one of my worst fears, so I couldn’t imagine someone going through that right in front of me.”
The father of Samolinski, Charles, heaped praise on Anthony for his bravery and courage.
“Thank God somebody was here and wasn’t staring into their phone and did what needed to be done. If he wasn’t there, who knows where we’d be standing right now,” he said.
“In a statement on the incident, the Suffolk County Police Department said that Samolinski was driving her Subaru Outback when she accidentally drove into the water at around 10:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday,” TheBlaze reported.
Adding to the good news, neither Samolinski nor Zhongor were injured in the accident.
TheBlaze then stated, “U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Christian Erazo told Breitbart News that Zhongor’s actions exemplify what it means to be a U.S. Marine.”
“A fantastic individual. He has the qualities and traits of a leader, a hero,” Erazo stated.
The world needs more good news like this. While the coverage we see on the mainstream media seems to be nothing but awfulness, coupled with reminders that we’re losing our freedoms on a daily basis, there are good things happening in the world too.
It’s easy to forget this. However, we must not allow the left to snuff out the light in our souls. Doing so sends us down a hole of hopelessness, despair, and futility. We cannot continue the good fight if we are broken and discouraged, convinced there’s no good left worth fighting for.
There is.
In fact, there’s plenty of it. Keep in mind that news is a business, and nothing helps fatten pockets like bad news. You’re being sold a bill of goods. Remember there’s more to the world than what you’re being shown.
