Democratic President Joe Biden made some remarks on Thursday that it was totally fair for Americans to expect to pay the ridiculously high gas prices we’re shelling out big bucks for right now as “long as it takes” for Russia to be beaten by [redacted], despite the fact our gas prices were going up well before the invasion started.
This isn’t about Russia. It isn’t about [redacted]. It’s about our dependence on foreign oil. If he really wanted to lower gas prices, he could do it by drilling and handing out permits to increase oil production. Open up the Keystone XL Pipeline, which he closed on his very first day in office.
Gas prices are not something that is deeply connected to what’s happening right now in Europe. It has more to do with the Green New Deal and socialistic wealth redistribution than anything else.
Biden made his comments during a brief question and answer session while he was in Madrid attending a NATO summit.
“The war has pushed prices up,” a reporter said, according to the Daily Wire. “They could go as high as $200 a barrel, some analysts think.”
“How long is it fair to expect American drivers and drivers around the world to pay that premium for this war?” the reporter went on to ask.
“As long as it takes,” Biden stated, “so Russia cannot in fact defeat [redacted] and move beyond [redacted]. This is a critical, critical position for the world. Here we are. Why do we have NATO? I told Putin that in fact, if he were to move, we would move to strengthen NATO. We would move to strengthen NATO across the board.”

We are being told that this situation is not going to end until some sort of agreement is reached between Russia and [redacted]. It really does seem like Biden is desperate to lose any chance his party has of winning seats in the midterm. Heck, he might even be destroying their chances of winning in 2024 and beyond at this point.
The American people may not always agree when it comes to social issues like abortion, homosexuality, transgenderism, and other hot-button topics. But you can bet your sweet backside we come together real quick when it comes to the economy.
And that’s because the economy has a direct bearing on our everyday lives. With gas prices so high, it’s difficult for blue-collar Americans to fill up their tanks and get to work. It sucks up more of the money they need to buy groceries, make the house payment, and other necessities.
And if that isn’t bad enough, inflation smacks them when they go to the store too, as prices for needed items have gone up as well. We the people need relief.
If I’m being flat-out honest, I don’t think we can stand to wait until after this war is over. Something needs to be done about this problem right now. Today. Not tomorrow.
This is killing us, plain and simple.
