The Biden administration has just approved a Trump-era project to finish a section of the infamous southern border wall located in the state of California.
Gee, I bet liberals all over the place are ticked off about this course of action. Who would’ve thought that Biden would actually take up a Trump project and complete it? Highly unusual for this administration to do something like that, what with crafting narrative after narrative painting Trump up as the second coming of Adolf Hitler and all.
According to Newsmax, advocates from Friends of Friendship Park recently spoke with KPBS saying that U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officials stated that the primary and secondary border fences along the park are set to be replaced with 30-foot walls.
“The park, a binational spot between San Diego and Tijuana, represents the western-most point of the U.S. along the border with Mexico. It has been the only place along the southern border where people in the U.S. could see and even touch relatives in Mexico,” the Newsmax report stated.
“Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas approved the designs, which were initially authorized by the Trump administration in the budget for Fiscal Year 2018, the Daily Mail reported,” Newsmax reported.
CBP sent an email to KPBS which confirmed the plans to erect new fencing in the area surrounding Friendship Park, going on to say that the current fencing in place is no longer structurally sound.
The report goes on to say that the project will replace and further extend barriers that already exist with two walls that were started during the Trump administration.
“The new wall designs do not include a pedestrian gate, said Rev. John Fanestil of The Border Church,” according to Newsmax. And this, apparently, did not make the reverend too happy.
“This latest announcement really amounts to the complete desecration of this historic location,” Fanestil, a longtime Friendship Park advocate went on to say concerning the announcement. “We believe that the Biden administration should not be putting the finishing touches on Donald Trump’s border wall at Friendship Park.”
Oh. Look. Liberals who want to just full on allow illegal immigrants to flood into the country without any concern whatsoever for the burden it places on local economies — which are crumbling as we speak thanks to Biden’s inflation massacre — not to mention all of the cartel workers who come here looking to strike it rich by expanding their drug operations into the United States.
We need the border wall. All of it. It’s necessary in order to bring the current border crisis to an end. And, of course, to prevent future ones from occurring.
“CBP in February 2020 blocked access to Friendship Park, which is accessible by walking through Border Field State Park. Heavy rains that year forced state officials to temporarily close Border Field State Park,” the report said.
“We were kind of under the illusion that when Border Field State Park was going to reopen, they were going to reopen Friendship Park as well,” Rev. Seth Clark stated during the discussion with KPBS. “But that has not happened.”
While one of the first things Biden did when he was sworn into office was to put his name on the dotted line of an executive order that halted all construction on the border wall, he has approved of projects that exist at multiple locations along the border.
