On Wednesday, President Joe Biden’s administration approved American Airlines to resume service to several locations in the country of Cuba.
According to TheBlaze, this decision is the opposite of the one made by the Trump administration which had chosen to block flights to places in Cuba other than Havana, according to reports from the Associated Press.
The report went on to say, “The U.S. Department of Transportation will allow the airline to conduct daily flights between Miami, Florida, and several locations in Cuba, including, Camagüey, Holguín, Santiago de Cuba, and Matanzas/Varadero — the company will also offer two flights daily to Santa Clara, Cuba. The airline requested to start the flights in November. The company currently offers flights to Havana.”
“This is the Department’s first approval of a U.S. air carrier seeking to increase scheduled air services to Cuba since the Biden-Harris Administration’s announcement in May of new steps to support the Cuban people and strengthen ties between our citizens. This change will make it easier for families to visit their relatives in Cuba and for authorized U.S. travelers to engage with the Cuban people, attend meetings, and conduct research,” the Transportation Department’s press release revealed. “On June 1, 2022, the Department revoked certain U.S.-Cuba air services restrictions,” the release went on to say.
However, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a diehard conservative who has gained massive popularity within the Republican Party for his staunch stances on important issues and unwillingness to be intimidated, went total savage on the current administration for allowing these additional flights to Cuba.
“The Biden Administration’s decision to allow more flights into Cuba will only enrich the pockets of the communist dictators who have trampled on the rights of Cubans for decades. Biden should stop kowtowing to dictators throughout our hemisphere and start standing for freedom,” DeSantis posted in a tweet on Thursday.

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio also roasted how Biden’s administration handled Cuba earlier in the week in a tweet posted on Monday that said, “One year ago today the people of #Cuba took to the streets demanding #Libertad Over the last 12 months the Biden administration has done nothing to punish the regime & instead looked for ways to appease them.”

DeSantis is once again proving that he is quality leadership material. It’s no wonder his popularity continues to explode among folks on the right. He doesn’t just talk the talk; he walks the walk. Not many politicians are like that these days.
DeSantis is right on the money of course. We should not be helping to fatten up the bank accounts of communist leaders. Unfortunately, people like Biden and the others on the radical left are in love with these kinds of folks, admiring them in secret while also wishing to see America transform into a country that looks a lot like theirs.
