Gavin Newsome is the gift that keeps on giving. Even when you aren’t in a gifting mood, there he is!
The California Governor reminds me a bit of Ron Burgundy from Anchorman. I feel certain if he showed you around his home he would point to an impressive stack of books and make mention how his office smells of “rich mahagony”. I believe he is that dumb in real life. That’s pretty impressive.
There have been some rumblings of Newsome running for President in 2024. Considering Joe Biden’s ever decreasing mental acuity and my desire to see Trump or DeSantis in office, I sincerely hope he does. However, first he has to figure out how to keep people from fleeing California like their hair is on fire, which is a possibility considering half the damn state burns every summer. What’s your plan, Gavin you handsome devil? Let’s check with Outkick and see:
Newsom is clearly trying to increase his national profile and seems to be setting up his run to challenge the unpopular and mentally diminished Joe Biden.
His latest attempt to raise his stature resulted in him turning his inaccurate attention to the state of Florida.
In a recent ad (campaign ad?), Newsom claimed that “freedom is under attack” in Florida due to Republican politicians.
Wait, what? I didn’t know Newsome did comedy too!
Gavin Newsom, the Governor of California, staged a photo saying he was reading banned books to figure out what other states are afraid of
Except one of the books is “To Kill a Mockingbird,” which was banned by the city of Burbank. In California.
Absolutely beyond parody. https://t.co/PbE6qI9gnU

In case anyone just woke up from a three-year coma or a VERY long nap, Florida has been the freest state, hands down since Covid began. When the rest of the country was locked down and freaking out summer of 2020, my wife and I went on vacation to Florida. No mask mandates, no lockdowns, just sweet freedom. Guess what? We didn’t die! Crazy!
Maybe Newsome is trying to be ironic? Maybe he doesn’t know what the word means.
Newsom, with no sense of irony, said Florida is “banning books,” ignoring that his ideological allies in his own state are also banning books. He also claimed, based on nothing, that the state is making it harder to vote and openly lied by saying they are “restricting speech in classrooms” and “criminalizing women and doctors.”
Instead, Florida gained 211,000 residents in only one year from July 2020-July 2021, many of whom came from California to escape Newsom’s authoritarian and ineffective COVID restrictions.
So much for irony. That’s bad Gavin. Very, very bad Governor! Now go lay down! I kid, but the absolute silliness of Gavin Newsome taking pot shots at a state like Florida and a Governor like Ron DeSantis that did everything right, is stunning.
By contrast, Florida has been a beacon of individual liberty under Ron DeSantis. He’s banned vaccine mandates, ensured that parents retain more control over their children’s education, encouraged businesses and growth, and correctly realized that COVID policies were useless and destructive.
I have relatives that sadly lived through Covid in California and still reside there. The list of mistakes Newsome made and continues to make just in terms of Covid response take up more space than I have here. Suffice to say it’s longer than however long your arm is.
Ron DeSantis is smart, witty, genuine and personable. You get a sense he’s a man that means what he says, when he says it.
Gavin Newsome is just a stupid, pretty face that panders to his far-left constituency and will change policy based on the pressure he gets, unlike DeSantis, who will give you the friendly “two-finger” salute and stick to his proverbial guns, which Gavin will want to take from you, just watch.
I shouldn’t be too harsh. I want Newsome to run in 2024. I really do. The ensuing debates between him and whoever the republicans nominate will be comedy gold. I can’t wait to watch!
