Liberals Are None Too Happy With Deal Biden Made With McConnell

Liberals all over the country are coming after President Joe Biden, bashing him for apparently planning to nominate a pro-life judge due to an apparent deal he’s done with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Republican senator from Kentucky.

The Democratic Party is truly a mess at the moment. As the policies of the current administration wreak havoc on the American people through high gas prices, inflation, and a crisis along the southern border, more and more voters are turning to the Republican Party, which could be signaling a massive red wave coming down the pike for the midterm elections.

According to a report from Just the News, “Democrat Kentucky Rep. John Yarmuth on Wednesday told the Louisville Courier Journal about Biden’s plan to nominate Federalist Society contributor and former state solicitor general Chad Meredith to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.”

The report then went on to say, “Yarmuth claimed Meredith’s nomination came in exchange for McConnell agreeing to not stop the Biden administration’s future federal nominations.”

Andy Beshear, the Democratic governor of Kentucky, went on to confirm Meredith’s nomination to the media the following day, stating, “If the president makes that nomination, it is indefensible.”

The governor then said that he understands the president hasn’t formally submitted the nomination — as of the time of this writing — and is hoping that “means in the very least it’s on pause.”

Former President Donald Trump once gave Meredith consideration for a federal judgeship back in 2020, but ultimately decided against it.

“Meredith is known for winning a 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals case that upheld a 2017 Kentucky abortion law requiring abortion providers to perform an ultrasound and describe the image to the pregnant woman, the Courier Journal reported,” Just the News reported.

Beshear’s also not a fan of Meredith due to the work that was done on the controversial pardons for the Bevin administration.

Other folks on the left have also voiced their disapproval of the potential nomination, which comes hot on the heels of the defeat of Roe v. Wade.

“Biden is set to appoint an anti-abortion Republican judge to a lifetime seat in a deal that he made with Mitch McConnell. How many more times do @TheDemocrats have to stab you in the back before you will find the courage to leave this abusive relationship?” Socialist podcaster Ryan Knight stated in a post published on Twitter.

Editor-in-Chief of feminist publication Jezebel, Laura Bassett, referred to the deal as a “massive betrayal to the people [Biden] claims he’s fighting for.”

Kimberly Johnson, a feminist author, stated, “I don’t like it but evidently deal allows Biden to confirm ALL of his pro-choice judges without McConnell interfering.”

However, despite rumors of the deal, Biden and McConnell do not have what you’d call a “friendly” relationship when it comes to the issue of the judicial system in this country.

In fact, on Thursday, McConnell ripped into Biden for “attacking a core American institution like the Supreme Court from the world stage.”

Politics is such a twisted game of compromise. It’s no wonder so many people don’t want to serve in public office. You practically have to sell your soul to the devil.
