When moving over rough terrain, it’s important to be able to conversate without drawing attention to yourself. Sometimes it’s important to communicate where to go but other times it’s important to communicate dangers. In open spaces, it is also important to be able to communicate without drawing attention to yourself because there’s a higher chance of an echo and sound travels better in an open space.
