Former President Donald Trump won a recent poll that was put out by Harvard CAPS Harris on Friday that sought to find out who the most popular politician is in the United States.
Well, I mean, it’s not like anyone probably thought it was going to be Joe Biden, right? He’s currently suffering with the lowest approval rating seen in many years, if not ever, which is a total repudiation of his entire administration, which has only been in operation for a year and a half.
For someone to have done that much damage in so little time is impressive, but it certainly won’t win you a lot of support among the people.
According to a report from Just the News, over a quarter of registered voters stated that they had a favorable view of Trump, which meant that almost 42 percent of those surveyed have a “Favorable” or “Very favorable” view of the former commander-in-chief.
“Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) polled second to Trump with 40% of respondents viewing him favorably or very favorably,” the report revealed, which is yucky for those of us who value our liberty and actually being rewarded with our own money instead of it being stolen by big government and redistributed.
Third place belonged to former Vice President Mike Pence, which is honestly a little surprising, as 39 percent said they had a positive view of him.
“At least half of all voters have disapproved of Trump since shortly after he became president. The Harvard poll showed his disapproval rating is at 50%, which is tied with Vice President Kamala Harris,” Just the News reported.
Guess who the second least-favorable politician in the country is? House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. There was a whopping 57 percent of voters who held an unfavorable opinion of her.
When considering a potential rematch between Trump and Biden/Harris in 2024, Trump took the victory.
“Possible GOP presidential candidate Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis may have a difficult time beating Harris, as the hypothetical matchup shows her ahead by 2%,” the report added.
“Less than 30% of voters want Biden to run again, with 71% saying he should not run for a second term in office. However, six in 10 voters said Trump should not run for another term,” Just the News said.
Trump is so well liked because the policies he promoted often put the needs of the country and the American public far above some sort of personal agenda. He actually cared about regular Americans and spent time addressing their concerns.
Even more mind-blowing is the fact that he actually kept his campaign promises. This is almost unheard of in the political realm, which is extremely sad. It essentially means that our politicians, on both sides, are a bunch of liars.
But Trump did everything he said he’d do. Being a man of his word meant a lot to voters, even if things didn’t always pan out the way they hoped. We need more leaders like that right now. Leaders who will tell us the truth, seek the good of the country, put our needs first, and keep their promises.
Let’s hope others take that lesson from Trump if nothing else.
