Seeing similar results to last month, this month’s results say that Fox News Channel is the most-watched outlet on cable television, both in total day and in primetime. Averaging 1.35 million total day viewers in July 2022, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, FNC just completed its 18th consecutive month as the most-watched basic cable network in total day, while also the network averaged 194,000 adults 25-54 in total day for July.
However, compared to the previous month of June, Fox News lost -2% in total day viewers and -8% in the total day demo. As for Fox News primetime, the network remains far and away No. 1 in cable news but shed -3% in total primetime viewers and -8% among the primetime demo vs. June.
In comparison to the network’s July 2021 ratings, which counted 2.12 million viewers in prime time, and 333,000 in the 25-54 demographic, while also in total day, they earned an average of 1.19 million viewers, and 201,000 adults 25-54, Fox News gained +14% in total day viewers but lost -3% in the total day demo, shed less than -1% in total primetime viewers, and -12% in the primetime demo.
Additionally, for the fourth consecutive month, Fox Business beat CNBC in total business day viewers, led by Kudlow, which had its most-watched month since launch. FBN, however, came up short to CNBC in the key A25-54 demo and during the total day.

Prime time (Mon.-Sun.): 2,116,000 total viewers / 292,000 A25-54
Total Day (Mon.-Sun.): 1,350,000 total viewers /194,000 A25-54
The Five continued to make history on the programming front, finishing the month of July as the most-watched cable news show for seven out of the past eight months. The roundtable talk program averaged 3.2 million total viewers, and 410,000 in the 25-54 demo at 5 p.m. At 8 p.m., Tucker Carlson Tonight completed the month as the top-rated program among adults 25-54, averaging 482,000 in the measurement, and finishing No. 2 in total viewers with a 3.1 million average.
Additionally, for the month of July 2022, Fox News delivered The network the four-most-watched cable news shows and the top 15 of the top 16 cable news programs in the 25-54 demo.
