Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney of Wyoming, who has earned herself a whole lot of hatred for supporting the Jan. 6 committee and backing the impeachment of former President Donald Trump, recently gushed like a school girl after seeing a photograph of “Yellowstone” actor Kevin Costner in a cowboy hat wearing a t-shirt that said, “I’m for Liz Cheney.”
“Real men put country over party,” Cheney’s said in the post on Twitter.
Cheney, who has never been shy of her criticism of Trump, was one of 10 House Republicans who voted in favor of impeaching the former president after the Capitol riot that took place in January 2021. She is also one of only two GOP members serving on the House Select Committee that was created to look into the Jan. 6 incident.
The other member of the Republican Party who is on the committee is Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois. He replied to Cheney’s post by saying, “Costner is more of a man than most men.”

“So perfect. Hollywood liberals for @Liz_Cheney,” Tim Murtaugh, who previously worked as communications director for the Trump 2020 campaign, posted as a response to Cheney’s post.
“The fact you think this helps in Wyoming is just another painful reminder of how out of touch with Wyomingites you really are,” Twitchy’s Sam Janney remarked.
Harriet Hageman is fully back by Trump in the Wyoming primary, which is scheduled to take place on Aug. 16. Trump has referred to Cheney — the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, as a “warmonger,” a “disloyal Republican,” and a “RINO,” which stands for “Republican in Name Only.”
“Cheney said last month that she has not yet made a choice about whether to mount a 2024 presidential bid, but will “make a decision about 2024 down the road,” TheBlaze reported. “In the last presidential election cycle, Costner backed Pete Buttigieg during the Democratic primary. The actor told Variety that he planned to vote for Joe Biden in the 2020 contest.”
“I’m an independent. I vote for who I think has the best interests of the country and how we sit in the world,” Costner went on to say during an interview with the Daily Beast in 2020. “I really go back and forth on my votes. The Democratic Party doesn’t represent everything that I think, and neither does the Republican Party right now—at all.”
Is anyone really surprised that an actor from Hollywood would be in support of someone like Cheney? She’s practically a liberal Democrat. This makes it easy for the milky “conservatives” that exist within the entertainment industry to feel okay about outwardly admitting they are voting for someone who is a Republican.
It’s a cheap way to stay relevant and stand up for someone without getting knocked out of your career. The truth of the matter is, while Costner is a great actor — a fact that is not in dispute — it’s unlikely his support for Cheney will do anything to bolster her campaign. She’s far too hated by the right to get anywhere.
Not even Kevin Costner can do anything to save her at this point.
