Robert Gilliam, the father of deceased Ciara Gilliam, said he has no fear of finding the drug dealer responsible for her death. He’s aware of the potential risks. This is a problem that affects not just his family, but the entire country, he argued, so the risk is justified.
From his home in Amarillo, Texas, the 53-year-old and his wife Karletha are making a brave move to track down the drug dealer responsible for their daughter’s death. Caira Gilliam, 22 years old, passed away on August 23 from a drug overdose.
“We cannot bring Ciara back. The epidemic in Iowa is out of control,” Robert told FOX Television Stations. “If we can get one drug dealer off the street, it is our hope that we can save one life.”
He continued, saying that they hope this sends a message to the drug dealers that certain people will act when nobody else will.
On August 23, Robert reported that his daughter’s boyfriend had informed him that he had been unable to reach Ciara, who was then residing in Des Moines, Iowa. In an effort to reach his daughter when he was in Oklahoma, Robert found himself unable to reach her too.
After that, Robert’s mom and dad went to Ciara’s house to make sure she was okay. They first went to her place of employment, but her boss told them she was out sick that day.
At home, Ciara’s car was parked in the driveway. In order to get someone’s attention, Robert stated they banged on the door and shook the glass. However, nobody responded. His stepfather discovered Ciara dead on the floor of her bedroom after climbing in through an unsecured window.
The investigation team uncovered fentanyl pills at Ciara’s house and told her family that she likely died of an overdose.
The reward offered by Ciara’s family has increased to $45,000, and they are still looking for the drug dealer who sold their daughter drugs. They are looking for contact information for the dealer. No problem whatsoever.
The family has also promised to share any leads with the Des Moines Police Department.
One can also contribute to the family’s financial needs by visiting the GoFundMe page set up for them.
“She was our everything,” Robert added. “This is leaving a lot of heartache and a huge void in our lives. Ciara called us multiple times a day. We had the best relationship that a mother, father, and daughter could ever have.”
Most drug overdose deaths include a combination of substances. Officials claim that low-cost fentanyl is increasingly being mixed with other medicines, often without the knowledge of the consumers.

Rob confessed his daughter had a drug issue. According to him, Ciara’s drug problems started when she was a teenager. She cycled between sobriety and drug usage. He suspected that she used Xanax to numb the emotional distress she felt on the inside. In the past, Ciara had overdosed, according to her father, and she had been trying to get clean.
They have faith that the sacrifice they have made in honor of their daughter will help save lives in the drug fight. Robert elaborated that they will start standing up as parents and as a group if they can remove just one drug dealer off the streets.
