Grandmothers are probably the sweetest people on earth. They have already gone through the mother phase and have raised their families, and now they can spoil their grandchildren rotten all while passing along wisdom, kindness, and love to their children, but even more to their grandchildren.
At least, that’s most grandmothers. This one in particular has allegedly helped her daughter get rid of her grandchild before it was ever born.
The old wicked witch hails out of Nebraska and has been accused of assisting her young daughter with killing her unborn child which was around 24 weeks old after prosecutors observed Facebook messages in which the two seemed to have planned the killing by taking pills and later putting the unborn baby on fire.
The prosecutor taking care of this murder case said it’s the first time he’s charged anyone for illegally performing an abortion following 20 weeks, a regulation that was passed in 2010. Before the overturning of Roe v Wade, states weren’t allowed to enforce any type of baby killing bans until the fetus was old enough to be considered viable which is roughly around 24 weeks.
Who decides when a baby can be considered living anyways? A baby’s heartbeat can be heard as soon as 5 1/2 – 6 weeks after gestation, and that is going off of what science says and keeping the Bible out of the discussion, but we will save that for another time.
In one of the disgusting messages the wicked grandma, Jessica Burgess, 41, tells her then 17-year-old daughter that she has secured early termination pills for the baby and gives her guidelines on how to take them along with instructions on how to be more proficient in ending the infant’s life. – Talk about mother of the year, yeah right!
The young girl walking in her mom’s ‘brave’ footsteps before her responds in other messages saying things like “how she can’t wait to get the ‘thing’ out of her body,” one detective wrote in legal documents. “I will finally be able to wear jeans,” she wrote in another message. You might be wondering how authorities even obtained such messages. Well, they were able to get a search warrant, and even documented some of the messages in the court records.
When the pair were initially interviewed, the two let specialists know that the young teen had given birth to a stillborn baby in the shower in the wee hours of the morning of April 22. They followed up by saying that they put the baby in a bag, placed it in a case towards the rear of their van, and later drove a few miles north of town, where they covered the body with the assistance of a 22-year-old man.
Initially, toward the beginning of June, the mother and girl were charged with a single felony for killing, concealing, or leaving a body and two misdemeanors consisting of trying to hide the death of another person and false reporting.
However, upon discovering the horrendous messages around a month later, they were additionally charged with another felony of abortion-related charges against the could-have-been grandmother. The daughter who is now 18 years old is being charged as an adult at the prosecutor’s request, and rightfully so. The man who tried assisting with disposing of the body of the dead baby is not being identified since he was only charged with a misdemeanor, but he is set to be convicted later this month.
The case is ongoing, and later the mother-daughter team changed their story from having a stillbirth to admitting that they purchased the abortion pills “for the purpose of instigating a miscarriage.”
While this whole scenario is just a huge sad, dark mess, it still gets worse. Neither of them seemed to have any remorse or even care because neither of them was able to recall when the “stillbirth” happened and had to reaffirm the date these events transpired from their Facebook messages.
