A host for MSNBC, along with a guest appearing on the network, think that if you are one of the folks who are worried about inflation and high gas prices, you are obviously a privileged white person because black folk are too busy worrying about being killed by cops while going to work on a daily basis.
The absurd comments were made while Zerlina Maxwell was doing an interview with Kurt Bardella, a Democratic adviser and a former publicist for Breitbart News.
“Inflation, it’s almost a privilege to care about inflation as your number one issue, uh, the same is true of gas prices, or even the idea that it’s the economy stupid,” Maxwell went on to say, making a reference to the famous slogan from way back during former President Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign.
She then continued, saying, “I always found that analysis lacking, because as a black person, I don’t wanna get killed on the way to my job.”
I mean, what are the current figures for black people being killed by cops on the way to work on a daily basis? I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s not nearly as high as Maxwell is making it out to be, if it exists at all. But then again, what do I know, since I’m a privileged white male?
“So I’m glad I have a job, I’m glad I make a living wage, but if I can’t be alive, then what does that other stuff matter? I mean, speak to the idea that some of this stuff is existential in the minds of the Democratic base, in a way that is maybe not for the middle of the country, the so-called middle, or even more conservative-leaning voters,” Maxwell added.
According to TheBlaze, Maxwell didn’t elaborate on what exactly she meant by blacks being killed on the way to work, however, Bardella then specifically cited blacks being killed by cops and then ridiculously added victims of global warming.
If you’re scratching your head trying to figure out what the heck these people are talking about, you’re not alone. Much of what is being spoken of here is total nonsense.
“Yeah, listen if you just lost your house because of a flood in Kentucky, if you just lost your livelihood because it burnt down in a wildfire, if you just lost your life because you’re the wrong color and you’re pulled over somewhere, inflation doesn’t really matter to you, or to your loved ones,” Bardella went on to say during the interview.
“There are so much broader things going on right now in this country that affects so many demographics, that the dollars to cents case that has been made time and again, like you said, it’s the economy stupid, there’s a blind spot there, and you’ll notice that the majority of people who make that statement are generally white,” he continued.
Bardella then concluded by saying there’s a “reckoning” happening in the United States right now.
Bardella formerly worked for Breitbart News before switching over to become a Democrat and then got a job as a senior adviser to the vomit-inducing Lincoln Project organization that was shamed after it was discovered that a member of the group’s leadership was attempting to engage in sex with an underage boy.
