A grandmother has has announced that she is pregnant with her own son’s baby. You heard it right. This happened after her son’s wife found out she was unable to carry a 5th child. Nancy Hauck, from St. George, Utah, agreed to be the mother of Jeff and Cambria Hauck’s fifth child because an emergency hysterectomy prevented Cambria from getting pregnant.

Sounds weird, right? Well, it is. But considering that her body was about to enter menopause and that she had not been pregnant for over 25 years, Nancy had to make a decision quickly. She offered to be the couple’s surrogate mother although she didn’t think it was possible due to her age, but the embryo was transferred without any problem.
Nancy stated, “I never imagined I would be pregnant at 56 or that this would be possible, but it is the most beautiful thing.”
The decision made by Nancy to become a surrogate mother to her son Jess and daughter-in-law Cambria was based on the fact that they had struggled so badly with fertility issues. For six years the couple underwent IVF treatment before having twins, Vera and Ayva. Despite having another set of twins, Cambria underwent a hysterectomy after the birth was traumatic, preventing her from getting pregnant with any more children, according to Daily Mail.
Nancy declared, “They’ve had lots of struggles with infertility – but they had seven embryos to try with IVF and decided they wanted to use them all. Cambria could no longer carry her own children. And I just had a feeling a few months after that I should offer to do it.” She added, “I told my son, and he teared up and was shocked – I hadn’t even told my husband at that point, but he was really supportive.” Yet no family member thought it would be possible because of her age, despite her offering to do it.
In spite of this, they discussed the idea with fertility doctors, telling them Nancy had already had five healthy children without complications. After examining Nancy, it was evident that she could carry the baby, but it was likely that they would need to act quickly before she entered menopause. She said, “They’d just had their twins, so it was very quick after to have another baby. But they decided to go for it.”
In January 2022, Nancy began her hormone treatment, injecting herself every day for 12 weeks with the help of her husband and Jeff’s father, Jason, 59. And it worked. Now, the story may certainly be very shocking to many people, but matter of fact is that the family is very happy and her wife’s son has declared that she is very grateful to her husband’s mom.
“She is sacrificing so much for us, and our family and we just feel so grateful. It has been so miraculous and beautiful to watch Nancy carry our sweet baby girl.” Nancy added: “I felt grateful to have such a selfless and loving mom [who] was willing to make that kind of sacrifice for my family.”
