White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre blew her top during a press briefing on Thursday after a reporter dared to do his job and hold her accountable for dodging his questions like Neo dodges bullets, blowing smoke from her ears (not literally) and stormed out. Guess she couldn’t handle the heat so she got out of the kitchen. Never thought someone would actually follow that piece of sage wisdom but hey, it’s the 21st century, so anything is possible. Heck, men can even defy eons of established science and become women!
According to the Daily Wire, Today News Africa reporter Simon Ateba confronted Jean-Pierre during the briefing, going on to accuse her of ignoring him and not answering the questions he asks. Gee, even former press secretary Jen Psaki would at least acknowledge reporters and tell them she’d “circle back,” even if she had no intention of doing so. It’s the acknowledgement that counts.
“Ateba was persistent and refused to let her call on another reporter until she answered his question about the upcoming U.S.-Africa Summit, where President Joe Biden is expected to meet leaders from dozens of African countries,” the report said.
“Karine, why is it so hard to take a question on the U.S.-Africa Summit, when the President is meeting 50 African leaders — the biggest gathering of leaders of his administration?” he went on to ask her. “Why is it hard for you to give me a question?”
She responded by saying that it wasn’t “hard” for her to provide him a question, to which he replied that it had been months since she answered one that he posed to her.
“The two went back and forth for several moments before Jean-Pierre packed up her binder and stormed out of the room. She had claimed that she would give a question to a colleague of Ateba, but he remained persistent,” the Daily Wire continued.
“Okay. Thanks, everybody. I’ll see you tomorrow,” she stated before briskly walking out of the room.

Ateba then himself spoke with the Daily Caller about the incident stating that Jean-Pierre should be “ashamed” of her behavior during the interaction.
“Karine Jean-Pierre should be ashamed of herself,” he remarked. “How bad can discrimination get? Even when President Biden is hosting 50 African leaders, she cannot give a question to the African reporter in the room. Shameful.”
This isn’t the first time the pair have butted heads. Ateba and Jean-Pierre also clashed during press briefings such as the one with Dr. Anthony Fauci’s last meeting with the press at the White House back in November. He accused the press secretary of not taking any questions from a Daily Caller reporter who was present.
“If you’re going to hold a press briefing, you need to call on people across the room,” he said during the event. “She has a valid question. She’s asking about the origin of COVID … Fauci’s the best person to answer this question.”
Jean-Pierre fired back by saying she was “done” with Ateba.
“I hear the question, but we’re not doing this the way you want it,” she fumed. “This is disrespectful. Simon, I’m done. I’m done with you right now. You’re taking time away from your colleagues.”
Yeah, wow. That sort of behavior smacks of unprofessionalism, doesn’t it? Then again, any time a person, especially a member of the press, does their actual job as a journalist and seeks to hold the radical left members of the current administration accountable, this is how they get treated. I guess that’s to be expected if you are a person that the Democratic Party doesn’t have in their pocket and won’t blindly push the progressive narrative.
