Democratic Mayor of Chicago Lori Lightfoot’s city is going to finish 2022 with an absolutely mind-boggling 723 murders for the year. Guys, if this does not convince you that leftists policies are destroying the greatest cities in our country, then you are purposefully ignoring the data that is clearly out there for all to see.
What a lot of people who live in major cities refuse to admit is that Democratic Party policies, which are grounded in progressive ideology and socialistic beliefs like wealth redistribution instead of wealth creation, are nothing more than band aids that are slapped on deep cuts that need stitches. If you want to reduce crime — which is often caused by poverty and lack of economic opportunity — then you need capitalism and less government interference in the free market.
According to a report from Breitbart, “Moreover, the Sun-Times observed motor vehicle theft in Chicago was up 95 percent in 2022, when contrasted with motor vehicle theft in 2021. Theft was up 50 percent, burglary was up ten percent, and robbery was up ten percent.”
Last year, the folks at Breitbart wrote up a piece that demonstrated how 2021 was the deadliest year in the history of Chicago in almost a quarter of a century. And that’s really saying something, given the city has always had a violent underbelly.
“The Hill pointed out Chicago police confirmed the city witnessed 797 homicides during the course of 2021,” the report continued.

“For example, Susan Less, former deputy mayor for public safety, said, ‘[We] should not be patting ourselves on the back when the … absolute number of shootings and homicides is so high that people are afraid to do their daily functions. We are still in a crisis,'” the report added.
What’s genuinely scary is that this current number of 723 is actually down 13 percent compared to last year, despite being higher than any other city in the entire country. Let that sink in for a bit. And Chicago has the most restrictive gun control laws in the United States. I thought if you made guns practically illegal it would help bring violent crime to an end? What’s the deal?
Oh. Yeah. That’s right.
Guns aren’t the problem. People are.
Gun control doesn’t get at the root of what causes crime. It doesn’t solve lack of economic opportunity. Gun control laws do not tackle mental health issues and provide care and medication for those who desperately need it. Nor does this kind of legislation address the issue of human evil. Sometimes, people do bad things for no real reason at all. And a law banning or severely limiting their access to guns is not going to prevent them from carrying out horrific acts. It’s just going to make them more creative.
All that Lightfoot has managed to do is ensure law abiding citizens are denied the ability to exercise their Second Amendment right to own a gun and protect themselves, which hasn’t lowered crime, but actually created more victims for the bad guys. Real good work, guys. You deserve some sort of award for this. Keep it up.
