Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan is all set to be the chairman for a select subcommittee in the new Congress tasked with investigating the politicization of the Federal Bureau of Investigation that has been made known to the public through the release of the now infamous “Twitter Files.”
Breitbart News is reporting that the subcommittee will officially be dubbed the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, an apt name for sure when you look at the numerous communications in the files that clearly show how the FBI is being used by progressives within the government to try and silence the voices of those who disagree with the narratives they’ve concocted to help brainwash the masses.
The subcommittee will provide Jordan wit the means necessary to launch a probe into the White Houses, big tech, and the weaponization of law enforcement agencies within the federal government. The GOP is referring to the subcommittee as a “Church Committee,” which is a reference to an investigation from the 1970s by Sen. Frank Church who discovered intelligence wrong doings by both political parties.
The subcommittee’s “probe into communications between tech giants and President Biden’s aides will look for government pressure that could have resulted in censorship or harassment of conservatives — or squelching of debate on polarizing policies, including the CDC on COVID,” Breitbart reported.
“The creation of the subcommittee is a result of the speakership negotiations between newly elected House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and the 20 conservative House Republicans who originally withheld their votes from McCarthy,” the report continued.
A press release that was put out by McCarthy’s office Sunday evening revealed that the subcommittee will have 13 members, which includes a total of five Democrats. Here are some of the details revealed in the press release:
- will investigate how the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, and other executive branch agencies obtain information from and provide information to the private sector, non-profit entities, or other government agencies to facilitate action against American citizens.
- would be given sweeping investigatory powers that include access to information shared with the House Intelligence Committee and the authority to review ongoing criminal investigations.
- would permit Speaker McCarthy to name 13 members to the panel, including five Democrats, after consultation with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
McCarthy then seemed to make an allusion to the subcommittee during a speech given on Saturday morning after receiving the gavel.
“We’re going to pass bills to fix the nation’s urgent challenges — from wide-open southern borders, to America-last energy policies, to woke indoctrination in our schools,” he remarked.
“We’ll also address America’s long-term challenges — the debt and the rise of the Chinese Communist Party,” he went on to say during his talk. McCarthy then promised he would “hold ‘the Swamp’ accountable — from the withdrawal [from] Afghanistan to the origins of COVID to the weaponization of the FBI.”
Breitbart then revealed, “The subcommittee was not the only concession conservatives won as a result of the speakership talks. House rules to be voted upon Monday by the Republican conference guarantee seven bills will receive a vote on the House floor and will not be blocked by House leadership. The bills include efforts to curtail the IRS, illegal immigration, China, and abortion.”
“The pending rules package also includes several rules that will serve as guardrails for the House moving forward. Those rules include that any one member can force a ‘motion to vacate’ the speaker’s chair; provisions to reduce out-of-control spending, taxes, and debt limit increases; at least 72 hours between the release of a bill’s text and floor vote; and ‘conservative representation’ on important House committees,” Breitbart’s report concluded.
