Whoopi Goldberg is one of the dustiest, least entertaining personalities on television. Considering the trash on the late-night network shows and basically ALL of CNN, that is saying something! Goldberg however, like the air she breathes can’t seem to stop making racist, antisemitic statements and doubling down on them. Those would be a problem on their own if she were making jokes, sadly she is serious which makes it even more egregious. It should be recalled that Goldberg, despite her fake Jewish last name decided to make some very controversial comments on the Holocaust, only to be suspended by ABC and issue a weak apology. Recently in an interview with a The Times of London (must have been a slow news cycle in England), Whoopi stupidly decided to double down on those comments as if there was no such thing as the internet. Unfortunately for her it exists, and people keep receipts for dumb behavior. Apparently, fans have finally had enough of the cantankerous old hen and are demanding she be replaced with another, similarly unfunny cantankerous old hen. Check this out.
Earlier this week Whoopi Goldberg was being slammed for making more “offensive” comments about the Holocaust and once again suggesting that it was not originally about race. While she has since apologized, the backlash against her has continued, and calls are growing for ABC to fire her from “The View” and replace her with Rosie O’Donnell.
In her new statement, she attempted to clarify that she was simply referencing her past hurtful remarks, not “doubling down” on them.

“I’m still learning a lot and believe me, I heard everything everyone said to me. I believe that the Holocaust was about race, and I am still as sorry now as I was then that I upset, hurt and angered people. My sincere apologies again, especially to everyone who thought this was a fresh rehash of the subject. I promise it was not.
“In this time of rising antisemitism, I want to be very clear when I say that I always stood with the Jewish people and always will. My support for them has not wavered and never will,” she ended.
It was Shakespeare, or someone that said ‘methinks thou doth protest too much’ and me thinks Whoopi has let her mouth write, then endorse a check her big bottom can’t cash. While Whoopi squirms and her handlers likely start working on their resumes, a call has started for “out with the old, in with the older” on The View. Many fans, especially on Reddit are clamoring for Rosie O’Donnell to reclaim her (worn out) seat at the panel and for Whoopi to bounce.
“Whoopi who I love, once again said something really dumb and ABC has to be angry,” it continued. “If she’s fired, should they get Rosie O’Donnell back as mod? She was good TV, IMO.”
Many fans were quick to agree, with one writing, “I would love for Rosie to come back, if only to see how she would handle the Sunny issue. I also think it would be interesting to see how she interacts with Farrah. Her and Elizabeth were on opposite sides politically, but did get along quite well for a while.”

So, what’s it going to be? A kick in the groin or a poke in the eyes? Those are essentially the choices. You have one with full blown Trump Derangement Syndrome, and one that won’t be invited to any Bar Mitzvahs anytime soon. Both are caustic, both are unfunny, and both represent the worst of the left. On the plus side they provide plenty of material for conservative commentators, so at least some of us win, even if ABC does not.
