FBI Now Set To Conduct Search Of Former VP Mike Pence’s Private Home

A new report from the Daily Wire has revealed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation will be launching a search of the private home of former Vice President Mike Pence after his legal team discovered classified documents at the location last month. This information originally came out of a piece published by the Wall Street Journal on Thursday.

Why has this seemingly become common all of the sudden? How many former presidents and vice presidents have taken documents out of the White House and stashed them in their private residences? It’s kind of disturbing to think information that could compromise our national security could just be stashed on a book shelf somewhere instead of inside a secured location.

“Pence directed his team to search his home in Indiana and office at his political advocacy group, Advancing American Freedom (AAF), following revelations that classified documents had been discovered in Biden’s office at the Penn Biden Center, a Washington think tank affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania. No classified papers turned up in the search of Pence’s offices at AAF,” the Daily Wire reported.

“The former vice president informed the National Archives of the discovery of classified government documents at his home on January 18, and the National Archives then informed the FBI about the discovery. The FBI later collected the material found at Pence’s home,” the report continued. “The Wall Street Journal reported that the Justice Department was currently in talks with Pence to schedule a time to search the residence in the very near future.”

The DOJ currently has two active investigations concerning the handling of classified material for former President Donald Trump and current Commander-in-Chief Joe Biden.

The first set of classified documents discovered with connections to Biden popped up in a former private office he used after his time as vice president in the Obama administration located at the Penn Biden Center, which is a think tank located in D.C. The discovery was made on Nov. 2, just a week before the 2022 midterm elections were set to take place. Since that time, attorneys representing the president have revealed additional classified material was found at his home in Wilmington, Delaware on several different occasions.

Some were found in a room adjacent to his garage on Dec. 20, with another document found in Biden’s study on Jan. 11. Five more were found in the same location the following day. Federal officials confirmed several weeks ago that more documents were discovered during a 13-hour FBI search of the president’s home on Jan. 20.

“CNN reported last week that while Biden’s team claimed it was cooperative in dealing with the Department of Justice, federal investigators were prepared to get a search warrant if Biden did not consent to being searched,” the report continued.

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed former U.S. Attorney Robert Hur — who served during the Trump administration — to serve as special counsel in the investigation after the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois John Lausch, who was assigned to do an initial review of the case, recommended to Garland that a special counsel be appointed,” the report concluded.
