Former President Donald Trump, who is currently campaigning for a second term in the Oval Office, has plans to publish a brand new book comprised of personal correspondence he’s received over the years from celebrities and world leaders. You can almost hear each and every one of these individuals screaming in agony at the thought of such a book being released right now, as it could place a damper on the current state of their careers. Because, despite the whole world pretty much loving “The Donald” years ago before he became president, he’s now anathema thanks to his presidency where he dared to enact policies that placed America first.
A new report from The Daily Wire has revealed the book will be called, “Letters to Trump,” and will include a total of 150 notes from a wide-range of famous personalities from popular television host Oprah Winfrey, all the way to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un (that ought to be an interesting note). Along with each published letter, Trump will provide a bit of commentary on both the letter itself and the individual who sent it. Yeah, this is really going to stir up the hornets’ nest, guys.
A report from Axios also revealed the book will include missives from “Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Princess Diana, Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, North Korea’s Kim Jong-un, Mario Cuomo, Arnold Palmer, Jay Leno, Liza Minnelli, Regis Philbin” and a number of others. Philbin, the outlet noted, opened his letter with, ‘My Dear Trumpster.'”
“The book will feature photos of each letter — along with transcripts to go along with the ones where handwriting is difficult to read. One letter that is certain to make the cut — written by Winfrey in 2000 — includes the television host’s lament that she and Trump are not running for office as a team,” the report continued.
Trump had sent Winfrey an excerpt from his 2000 book, “The America We Deserve” where he claimed that she would be his “first choice for vice president” if he were to run for office. Boy, I’m glad the real estate mogul had a wake up call and turned Republican, because that ticket would have been an absolute disaster.
“Americans respect and admire Oprah for her intelligence and caring,” Trump went on to say in the book, later going on to add that he’d want to have someone with those same qualities join him in his bid for office if she refused or were unavailable.
“Too bad we’re not running for office. What a team!” Oprah responded at the time, noting that she had been brought to tears by the things he said of her — however, Trump points out in his new book that she had changed her mind after learning that he intended to seek the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.
“Sadly, once I announced for President, she never spoke to me again,” the former president wrote, saying he still believes Winfrey is an “amazing” person.
The new book is scheduled for publication on April 25, 2023, with a price tag of $99.
