Leftist news publication Politico reported that independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema once described luncheons held by the Democratic Party as being both “ridiculous” and “dumb,” which are no doubt apt descriptions for events that feature a group of individuals who are so delusional in their political beliefs it’s almost as if they are living in a completely different universe.
“Those lunches were ridiculous,” Sinema went on to say to GOP lobbyists during a reception that took place this year when talking about why she stopped attending the caucus’ weekly luncheons, the outlet said, citing an attendee from the event.
“I’m not caucusing with the Democrats, I’m formally aligned with the Democrats for committee purposes,” the senator reportedly went on to say. “But apart from that I am not a part of the caucus.”
“Old dudes are eating Jell-O, everyone is talking about how great they are,” Sinema reportedly remarked. “I don’t really need to be there for that. That’s an hour and a half twice a week that I can get back.”
Okay, the Jell-O line is worthy of at least a chuckle. And there are definitely a lot of old folk in the Democratic Party these days. Maybe even more so than in the GOP. Maybe. Politics, especially at the federal level, are still very much an “old dude” sport.
“The Northerners and the Westerners put cool whip on their Jell-O,” the senator continued, “and the Southerners put cottage cheese.”
Well, the cottage cheese thing is disgusting. Seriously. Who does that? Ew. If you put cottage cheese on your Jell-O, you need to seek Jesus and repent.
Sinema then said she had better ways to spend time than “those dumb lunches.”
“I spend my days doing productive work, which is why I’ve been able to lead every bipartisan vote that’s happened the last two years,” Sinema went on to say, according to Politico.
Sinema, previously a Democrat, announced last year she would be leaving the party and “registered as an Arizona independent.”
“Politico also reported that Sinema gave the middle finger when mentioning Ron Klain, who departed from his post as White House chief of staff earlier this year,” TheBlaze reported.
“According to the outlet, Sinema said that a White House aide called her last summer and communicated that she would need to make certain that all the Senate Democrats were in attendance at the vote to confirm Roopali Desai to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. The lawmaker reportedly said that she told the individual that there was no reason for worry since the vote would be bipartisan. She then reportedly divulged the identity of the aide, saying, ‘That was Klain,’ and flashed the finger. Sinema noted that Desai received 67 votes: ‘I did not call Ron back’ she reportedly said,” according to the report.
Well, Sinema certainly is entertaining, isn’t she? Makes you wonder if there’s a chance she might eventually make her conversion complete and become a conservative. At this point, we can use all the people we can get, especially in the Senate. That would go a long way toward potentially taking back the upper chamber in the 2024 elections rolling around the corner.
