Press Secretary For Gov. Katie Hobbs Steps Down After Deplorable Tweet Suggests ‘Transphobes’ Should Be Shot

Josselyn Berry, who was serving as the press secretary for Democratic Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, has officially stepped down from that position after posting a very disturbing and frankly, deplorable, tweet that seemingly suggested that “transphobes” should be shot, just a few days after a woman who identified as a transgender man walked into a Christian school in Nashville and shot and killed six people, three of whom were children.

You know, it really doesn’t get much grosser than that. What kind of soulless person would say such a comment after a horrific tragedy where people lost loved ones, particularly children? It’s horrible in every way. This tells you the kind of people we are dealing with in the modern-day Democratic Party. They’re ghouls. And that’s being generous.

Local media outlets in Arizona reported that Berry’s resignation came after receiving significant pressure from individuals who are close to her, along with other lawmakers. She couldn’t even decide to do the right thing on her own. The woman required others to push her toward taking appropriate action for her comments. Pathetic.

“The Governor does not condone violence in any form,” a statement from Hobbs’ office went on to read. “This administration holds mutual respect at the forefront of how we engage with one another.”

“The post by the Press Secretary is not reflective of the values of the administration,” the statement added, according to the Daily Wire. “The Governor has received and accepted the resignation of the Press Secretary.”

“The GIF, taken from the 1980 film ‘Gloria,’ tweeted by Berry showed actress Gena Rowlands wielding two pistols and was captioned ‘Us when we see transphobes.’ It was posted Monday, even as the nation mourned the murders of three 9-year-old children and three adults, killed at the Presbyterian-run Covenant School in Music City by a 28-year-old woman who was then killed by heroic police,” the report said.

Berry had tweeted a bit earlier, “If you work in the progressive community and are transphobic, you’re not progressive.”

“Less than 12 hours after the tragic shooting in Nashville by a deranged transgender activist, Katie Hobbs’s Press Secretary calls for shooting people Democrats disagree with,” the Arizona Freedom Caucus went on to say in a statement. “Calling for violence like this is un-American & never acceptable. Josselyn Berry should be fired immediately.”

“The Nashville shooter, a former student at the school, carried two rifles and one handgun into the Covenant School where she shot and killed six people before police arrived on the scene and killed her within minutes. Police said the shooter legally purchased seven guns from five different stores. Her parents, who said they did not want her to own any guns, acknowledged that they knew she had previously sold a firearm but did not know she owned others, police said,” the report stated.

On Tuesday, authorities also revealed that the suspect was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed “emotional disorder,” whatever that means. There are a number of mental illnesses that fall under that very broad category.

Local law enforcement officials revealed they searched the woman’s parents’ home where they discovered a detailed map of the school and a manifesto. The shooting has been labeled a “targeted attack” by Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake, who also said they have a theory about the motive for the attack but are not yet ready to share it.
