Without a doubt, one of the greatest sitcom characters of all-time is Dwight K. Schrute from The Office. I say this as an absolute super fan of the show who has watched the entire series more times than I actually care to admit. What can I say? It’s comedic perfection. Great stories. Excellent characters. And absolutely no filter or political correctness. It’s a perfect representation of how great things were culturally speaking just a short time ago.
Anyway, the actor who plays Dwight, Rainn Wilson, recently got on Twitter after watching the penultimate episode of the smash HBO Max series, The Last of Us, and admitted that there is most definitely an anti-Christian bias in the entertainment industry. The reason for the comment is that during the episode, “When We Are In Need,” the main character of the series, Ellie, comes across a group of survivors that are basically a cult being led by a demented cannibal who frequently quotes the Bible.
“I do think there is an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood. As soon as the David character in ‘The Last of Us’ started reading from the Bible I knew that he was going to be a horrific villain,” Wilson stated in a post on Twitter, according to the Daily Wire. “Could there be a Bible-reading preacher on a show who is actually loving and kind?”

“’The Last of Us,’ is a post-apocalyptic show based on the video game of the same name. At the dramatic end of episode 8, David (Scott Shepherd) tries to rape Ellie and she kills him in self-defense,” the report revealed concerning the show.
There were plenty of other users on the social media platform who were in total agreement with Wilson’s take on the idea of anti-Christian bias in Hollywood.
“Defamation of Christianity has become the most unoriginal and tired cliches in movie/TV series storylines. It’s prevalence is much more than a bias against an entire people, it is meant to undermine faith and position the secular-minded as only ones with altruistic intentions,” LIBRE Initiative president Daniel Garza responded.
“Indeed, making Christians the bad guy in the show is the norm, nowadays,” another individual said.
The show has stuck fairly close to the original source material — a hit video game — one user noted that the character of David was not a pastor in the game.
“As SOON as the pastor started reading from the Bible I knew he was going to be awful,” one person stated. ”I was like ‘watch that guy be David the creepy cannibal from the video game.’ And then it was David. Shocked. Surprised. Never seen it before. He wasn’t a pastor in the video game.”
It was kind of shocking to see Wilson making this observation and subsequent admission because he is not at all shy about sharing his very left-wing views on Twitter.
Back in November, the 57-year-old changed his Instagram handle to “Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson” in order to promote awareness on the issue of climate change.
“I’ve changed my name on Twitter, Instagram and even on my fancy writing paper,” the actor went on to say, as The Daily Wire previously reported. The video’s caption then stated, “The Arctic is melting at Millions of Liters per second, yet this problem can’t seem to make a name for itself, so we’ll make a name for it.”
“I changed my name … to help tell the world leaders and influencers that we need to act now,” he added.
So, as you can see, it’s amazing that as left-wing as he is, Wilson actually came out and stated what the rest of us already knew. It holds a lot of weight with other liberals when one of their own acknowledges something like this. No doubt he’s already catching hell for it from the extremists in the LGBTQ community, but hey, facts don’t care about your feelings.
I feel like I’ve heard that before.
