Republican presidential candidate and Florida governor, Ron DeSantis, grabbed President Joe Biden by the proverbial collar today during his first official stop on the campaign trail in Iowa and delivered a substantial punch to the nose — again, figuratively speaking — accusing him of purposefully trying to damage American families.
According to the Daily Wire, a total of 500 people crammed into a church located in the city of Des Moines to see the Florida Republican speak on a plethora of important issues facing our country today, including our national debt, problems with Mexican drug cartels, the border crisis, and a whole lot more.
Durign his speech, DeSantis slammed the Biden administration for “doing all it can to make it harder for the average family to make ends meet and to attain and maintain a middle-class lifestyle.”
“Biden is deliberately trying to kneecap our energy production,” he stated. “And he’s trying to force Americans into electric vehicles, which will make us more reliant on China who provides most of the materials for the batteries.”
DeSantis then put the radical left in our country in his sights for plaguing our institutions with progressive ideals, which the governor said have caused “divisions in our society and devalues merit and achievement.”
“Restoring sanity means we can’t have every major institution in our country going on ideological joy rides, we have to be guided by reality, by facts and by our enduring principles,” he proclaimed. “Merit must trump identity politics.”
Man…this dude is ON FIRE.
If DeSantis wins the nomination, I have a feeling we’ll be just fine. That’s not to disparage former President Donald Trump. Not at all. The same is true if he wins as well. Right now, we have two of the strongest conservative candidates we’ve had in decades running for the GOP nomination. The future looks bright.

DeSantis continued his speech, turning the conversation to the need to restore our military forces because “morale is declining and recruiting is suffering,” before touting his record in responding to the coronavirus pandemic and firing off a few shots at public health bureaucrats like Dr. Anthony Fauci, who I refer to as “Dr. Doom.”
“We in the state of Florida held the line when freedom hung in the balance, we refused to allow our state to descend into some type of Fauci dystopia, where people’s livelihoods were destroyed and their freedoms were curtailed,” he remarked. “We protected people’s rights. And like Governor Kim Reynolds, we ensured our kids had the right to be in school in person. In Florida, we chose freedom over Faucism, and we are better for doing that.”
DeSantis also had some harsh words for members of the GOP who sided with Disney in his state’s fight with the mega entertainment corporation.
“I’m not backing down one end. We run the state of Florida. They do not run the state of Florida,” he made clear during his talk. “I know all these Republicans are lining up against me to take the side of Disney. But I’ll tell you this, we stand for the protection of our children. We will fight those who seek to rob them of their innocence. And on that point, there will be no compromise.”

One criticism that seems to be popping up about DeSantis is that he’s not as fiery as Trump, being described as “low energy.” What this says to me is there are a whole lot of people out there who are more concerned about being entertained by politicians than they are the platform that individual pushes. That’s a horrific way to approach politics.
Always judge a candidate based on what they’ve done and what they’ve said. This isn’t a television show or movie. The future of our nation hangs in the balance. We could be one single generation away from the end of liberty across the globe. Pay attention to the issues, not the entertainment value of a particular candidate.
Both Trump and DeSantis have a track record of sticking to what they believe and doing what they say they will do.
