Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis has taken a huge step toward making an official announcement concerning a bid for the White House in 2024, which is expected to come sometime in the next few weeks. This is huge news and proves that the Republican Party does have significantly better choices for president than we’ve had in previous years, all thanks to the fire lit in the political realm by former President Donald Trump back in 2015.
So what’s the big move? Well, according to the Daily Wire, DeSantis has cut off his connection with his state political committee, Friends of Ron DeSantis, along with the $86 million in funds that it has control over, which is a step that is necessary for someone in his position gearing up for a presidential campaign.
“DeSantis cannot use that money in a federal race because state law does not limit how much a person can give to the committee, the report said. However, that money can be shifted to a super PAC that backs DeSantis — like the pro-DeSantis super PAC Never Back Down, which raised over $30 million in just its first few weeks being in operation — if the governor is no longer affiliated with the committee,” the report said.
“The committee updated its site on Tuesday and now says that it is affiliated with state Sen. Blaise Ingoglia (R) and not DeSantis. Ingoglia is a top ally of the 44-year-old governor,” the Daily Wire continued.
“Friends of Ron DeSantis is a statewide political committee that is committed to advancing the Freedom Agenda and keeping Florida free,” the committee’s website explains.
Ingoglia put out a statement saying it was “an honor to serve as chairman of this political committee — we will continue to be a pro-parent, pro-student organization committed to protecting parental rights and advancing the Freedom Agenda.”
“This political committee will put children first, bolster and protect parental rights in education, and it will focus on electing the right candidates fighting to safeguard our kids from woke and divisive material in our classrooms,” he continued in the statement. “I look forward to helping get these candidates across the finish line.”
As of this writing, the two top Republicans favored by American voters is without a doubt former President Donald Trump and DeSantis.
However, there’s been a war of words between the two, led primarily by Trump, who has spent a massive amount of money on an aggressive campaign against DeSantis in an attempt to get him not to enter the race.
“Various reports have suggested that DeSantis will announce his presidential campaign sometime between next week and the middle of June. Some reports have stated that DeSantis will first launch an exploratory committee while other reports have said that he will skip that step and will launch an official campaign,” the report concluded.
So here’s the good news. These are the two top potential candidates for the GOP nomination. Both men have a proven political track record of keeping campaign promises and taking real action to fight back against the radical left-wing. With either one of these men at the helm, our nation will be in better, capable hands than it is right now.
No matter which one nabs the nomination, it’s good for the country.
