Republican presidential candidate and current Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, recently paid the southern border a visit where he unveiled his plan to stop illegal immigration and the drug trade, which has been a consistent problem over the course of the last several years, thanks in large part to the strategy being employed by the Biden administration.
That strategy involves allowing open borders with the intent of buttering up illegal migrants who cross into the country with free welfare programs so they will eventually become loyal Democratic Party voters.
“In an event with Texas Rep. Chip Roy (R), DeSantis announced his immigration plan for his potential administration. He seeks to gain an edge over former President Donald Trump, who leads the Republican presidential field, on one of Trump’s signature issues in the 2024 GOP primary,” the Daily Wire reported.
DeSantis slammed President Biden over the current condition of the border, which has seen a record setting number of migrants crossing over illegally ever since the commander-in-chief took over for former President Donald Trump.
“For decades, leaders from both parties have produced empty promises on border security, and now it is time to act to stop the invasion once and for ll.,” DeSantis then remarked in a statement, according to The Washington Examiner. “As president, I will declare a national emergency on day one and will not rest until we build the wall, shut down illegal entry, and win the war against the drug cartels. No excuses. We will get it done.”
The Florida governor’s plan, which has been titled, “No Excuses,” is built upon four pillars, which include: stop the invasion, build the wall, hold cartels responsible, and work with states to enforce the law.
That, ladies and gentlemen, is brilliant. It’s simple too. This is the exact approach that needs to be taken with the immigration issue, regardless of who is president in 2024. By that statement I mean either Trump or DeSantis. I definitely do not want to see Biden back for another term and there’s no way he’d ever take an approach like this to the border problem.

“The DeSantis plan involves several reforms, including scrapping Biden’s parole program that the administration has credited for a drop in illegal immigrant encounters at the border since Title 42 was repealed last month. DeSantis also promised to end the Biden approach of catch-and-release and reinstate Trump’s ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy,” the report continued.
DeSantis’ promises in the plan to “build the wall. No excuses.” and makes use of the U.S. military in order to aid agents with Border Patrol in helping to keep illegal immigrants from crossing the border. Some of the strategies he plans to use in order to reach this goal includes ramping up the fight against drug cartels by declaring them as Transnational Criminal Organizations and providing “rules of engagement” for American forces to do battle against cartels along the U.S. border.
“I look at the issue at the border, and there’s some people, some people in the media, some people of certain political persuasions that just dismiss it as kind of a Texas problem or an Arizona problem. But I’m here to tell you when you don’t have control of your own border, that’s an American problem,” DeSantis went on to say in front of a crowd of supporters in Texas.

“In his remarks, DeSantis touted his immigration policies in Florida, such as sending Florida National Guard members to help Texas on two separate occasions and controversially flying illegal immigrants to self-proclaimed sanctuary jurisdictions in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, and California,” the report concluded.
