There are truly some sick and twisted people in the world.
Local law enforcement officials in Florida have filed a whopping 50 criminal charges against a couple who are being accused of repeatedly abusing and facilitating the abuse of several children.
People like this should be dealt with in a permanent fashion via the death penalty instead of going to prison where they receive three hots and a cot — plus healthcare — provided by taxpayers. Our laws for violent offenders, especially those who have committed crimes against children, are far too soft.
“As TheBlaze reported, police arrested 32-year-old Shawn Stone on May 9 after his girlfriend, Taylor Schaefer, told police that Stone had abused her children,” TheBlaze stated. “The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office announced on Saturday that charges are now being filed against Schaefer on allegations that she repeatedly witnessed child abuse but failed to report it.”
Schaefer is looking at a total of 25 criminal charges while Stone is staring down 23, according to authorities.
A report from Daytona Beach News Journal said, “Jail records show Stone is facing eight counts of neglect of a child causing great bodily harm; five counts of aggravated child abuse; four counts of neglect of a child; three counts of failing to report suspected child abuse; two counts of false imprisonment of a child under 13; and two counts of tampering with a witness in a life felony proceeding.”
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office put out a statement saying that Schaefer is facing “similar charges after detectives determined she was aware of the abuse, witnessed it and continually failed to intervene or report it.”
The allegations these two deplorable human beings are facing are the very definition of sick. Police say that Schaefer was a witness to the abuse, but did nothing to stop it and on top of that, failed to get her kids any sort of medical treatment for the injuries they sustained.
Before the beating that resulted in the five-year-old suffering from a skull fracture, police say that Stone tied the child’s hands behind his back for almost an entire day. Police then revealed it wasn’t the first time the poor kid was tied up.
“[C]ameras also recorded instances of Stone yelling at and kicking the already visibly bruised and injured victim, with Schaefer also entering the picture and telling the victim to stand up straight,” police said concerning the abuse. “Other footage recorded during beatings indicated that the sounds of the abuse could be heard throughout the house.”
Just that one single incident left the young victim with a total of 50 visible injuries. And if you think that’s bad, you haven’t even heard the worst yet.
The child was “tied up and placed in a dog cage and often punished via deprivation of food.”
Another young victim was forced to drink boiling water, then sprayed down with boiling water and beaten with household objects.
“Evidence was also obtained that a third child victim in the house was not receiving the proper nutrition or care for a serious medical condition, and was also witnessing the constant abuse,” police said.
“Stone remains in jail from his arrest last month. Schaefer was taken into custody on Sunday in a neighboring county, Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said,” TheBlaze stated in its report.
“The torture these kids endured is hard to imagine. The good news is they’re in safe hands now, and their scumbag abusers will have to answer for what they did,” Chitwood remarked in a Facebook post.
