The director of box office smash “Sound of Freedom,” recently stated there is interest in making a sequel, and if that did come to fruition, it would focus on efforts to battle child sex trafficking in the country of Haiti. The first film was a surprise smash success that took the world by storm, which pretty much nobody saw coming. The movie tells the story of Tim Ballard, a real life former government agent who works to stop human trafficking and rescue children.
According to Breitbart News, writer-director Alejandro Monteverde did a recent interview with Variety where he put the mainstream media on blast for attempting to smear the anti-child trafficking film and the creative team that brought the story to life.
“Monteverde spoke about a potential sequel to the movie, which has surpassed the latest Indiana Jones and Mission: Impossible movies at the domestic box office,” the report said.
“There’s definitely a lot of interest to exploring [the subject] a little deeper, because this is just the tip of the iceberg,” the film’s director stated. “There’s a lot of interest to kind of explore Haiti, what’s happening in Haiti. There’s [sequel] talks focusing on Haiti.”
“Sound of Freedom is based on the real-life story of Tim Ballard, the former Homeland Security agent who quit his federal government job to devote his career to rescuing children from international sex trafficking rings. The movie focuses on Ballard’s work in Latin America, but he is also working in other regions,” Breitbart explained.
“Haiti was a big part of Tim’s work,” Monteverde continued during the interview. “I was very tempted to do Haiti on this film. But I wanted to do an origin story, and it was too much material. I needed to end where I ended.”
He then went on to talk about the mainstream media’s narrative of smearing “Sound of Freedom” as having connections to “QAnon” conspiracy theories and those who promote them, as a means of discrediting the movie.
“I was like really sick. I was like, ‘This is all wrong. That’s not true.’ It was heartbreaking when I saw all this polemic and all this controversy going on,” he explained.
News outlets like “Rolling Stone,” “New York Times,” and NPR all slammed the film, claiming it was just made-up fodder from QAnon, despite the fact the movie was made before that whole thing became popularized. And come on, we all know child sex trafficking is a real thing. It’s been going on for ages and many law enforcement officials and professionals from different levels have tackled the issue. It seems really weird for the media to try and discredit the movie and the existence of child sex trafficking.
In fact, the attacks against the movie are actually giving it more credibility, along with making it seem as if elites are trying to hide the truth. It’s authenticating the very conspiracy theories they are trying to debunk.
Former President Donald Trump recently put on a special screening of “Sound of Freedom” at his club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
