Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis made it very clear that if he should nab the GOP presidential nomination and defeat President Joe Biden in the general election, he’s got his sights set on the “deep state” and what’s he got planned for them is absolutely brutal in every possible way. This is pretty awesome. I don’t know if DeSantis stands a chance against Trump, but if he pulls off an upset, and boots Crazy Uncle Joe from the Oval Office, heads will roll. Figuratively, of course.
DeSantis made his statements concerning his plans for the executive branch during a questions and answers portion at a campaign barbecue event in the state of New Hampshire, informing the crowds that he fully intends to go to war with the entrenched officials in those agencies.
“We’re going to have all of these deep state people, you know, we are going to start slitting throats on day one,” DeSantis stated during the event, according to Fox News. And while that might sound ultra-violent — and if he were literal, it would be — the statement is a reflection about how he handled political opponents in his home state, where he has relentlessly pushed conservative policies, much to the benefit of his constituents.
DeSantis has also employed the use of graphic imagery in interviews too, stating just last month he would be targeting folks working in the Defense Department.
“I think the idea that you take a flag [officer] or general officer who recently retired and put them as [secretary of defense], I think it is a mistake,” he said during a conversation with Real America’s Voice.
“You know, they may have to slit some throats. And it’s a lot harder to do that if these are people that you’ve trained with in the past,” DeSantis added. “So we’re going to have somebody out there, you know, be very firm, very strong, but they are going to make sure that we have the best people in the best positions, and there’s not going to be necessarily prior relationships that would cloud that judgment.”
It was former President Donald Trump who first started discussing the reality of the “deep state,” a group of radical progressive actors who occupy critical positions inside the federal government and use the power vested in those positions to further the leftist agenda, but DeSantis has also made that part of his own messaging, making the case that he’s much better suited to take down this powerful group of individuals due to his experience as governor of Florida.
“DeSantis, however, remains a distant second to Trump in Republican primary polls. Trump has continued to surge, thanks in part to his campaign’s ability to capitalize on reactions to criminal indictments against him,” the report stated in conclusion.
At the moment, the Republican Party is going to end up split between Trump and DeSantis, though it seems the vast majority are behind Trump at the moment. That, of course, could change as the primary draws closer. However, what is essential is that once a nominee is chosen, we all need to get behind that individual and work toward the common goal of voting Biden out of the White House.
