I know it’s hard to believe, but once upon a time, CNN used to be a fairly decent news outlet. The reporting was fairly objective and was designed to provide American viewers with the news and information they needed in order to make informed decisions about things in their daily lives and what they needed to know about what was happening in Washington.
That is definitely not the case now, nor has it been for a really, really long time. CNN has transformed from a news outlet equipping folks with the facts to a propaganda machine that only pushes the agenda of their progressive overlords within the Democratic Party. And folks have finally started opening their eyes in recent years to see this truth, which is why the network has seen such a massive decrease in ratings.
“CNN’s Abby Phillip is filling the 10:00 p.m. slot, and Laura Coates will host the 11:00 p.m. hour, the network announced. The two slots have been vacant since the network fired former anchor Chris Cuomo in Dec. 2021 and placed the now-fired Don Lemon on ‘CNN This Morning in Nov. 2022,” the Daily Caller reported. “The network named chief White House correspondent Phil Mattingly to co-host ‘CNN This Morning’ alongside Poppy Harlow, according to CNN. The show originally comprised Harlow, Lemon and former Daily Caller reporter Kaitlan Collins. The two seats have been vacant since the network fired Lemon in April and gave Collins her own show at 9:00 p.m.”

News anchor Kasie Hunt is soon going to be taking over hosting duties on “Early Start” in light Christine Romans leaving at the end of July. Pamela Brown will host a brand spanking new program that is scheduled for the 3 p.m. hour, which nobody ever watches because, well, it’s still during most normal working hours, according to information released by the network.
“The network is also rearranging its weekend lineups. Anchor Victor Blackwell will host a Saturday show airing at 8:00 a.m., with Chris Wallace in the 10:00 a.m. slot and Christiane Amanpour at 11:00 a.m., according to CNN’s announcement,” the Daily Caller’s report said.
There have been a lot of major changes happening at the network lately as it continues to struggle with low ratings, which has translated to low profits as well. The company’s profits tumbled well below $1 billion for the first time since 2016 over the course of the last 12 months due to streaming services and has encountered its lowest-rated year in the 24-54 key demographic since ratings tracking started in the early 1990s.
Chris Licht, who served as the CEO of CNN after Jeff Zucker left in 2022, was fired from the company in the early part of June.
No amount of moving hosts around and bringing fresh talent is going to get people tuning into CNN. If they truly want to become a highly watched, highly profitable company, they are going to have to go back to being middle-of-the-road in their slant. People don’t want to be spoon fed what to think. Present both sides of the issues of the day in an objective manner and you’ll be surprised how many folks would watch the programming.
