The cousin of a now infamous school shooter was taken into police custody on Monday after allegedly making threats to open fire at a school, local law enforcement authorities revealed according to the Daily Caller. A 17-year-old who is claiming to be the cousin of the school shooter who opened fire inside a Uvalde, Texas school, is reported to have made threats about shooting up a local school and murdering a relative just before his arrest.
“According to court documents, the teen’s mother reported that the suspect was planning to “do the same thing” as his cousin.”

“Nathan Cruz planned to follow in the footsteps of family member Nicholas Cruz, who was killed by police while carrying out the Robb Elementary shooting that killed 19 students and two teachers in May 2022, according to a warrant describing a Monday mental health call. The person on the phone claimed the criminal’s cousin intended to “do the same thing,” prompting the dispatch of San Antonio police,” the report said.
“The caller was a member of Cruz’s family who feared that he would fire upon the elementary school they lived across the street from. These fears emerged from Cruz threateningly telling another relative that ‘school is starting soon,’ the warrant states,” the DC stated.
Cruz is also said to have “attempted to acquire an AR-15 through an illegal private sale,” a family member who overheard the conversation Cruz had with an unnamed individual, said, according to the warrant.
The young man will now face felony charges for making a terroristic threat to the general public and a misdemeanor charge of making a terroristic threat to a family member, according to the records concerning the case. Cruz was officially booked into Bexar County Jail after his arrest.
“Cruz’s family claims the suspect was on probation prior to his arrest, but there is no criminal record available, meaning his previous charges could have been filed when he was a minor, KSAT noted,” the Daily Caller said.
I think if you’re a member of this family, it might be a good time to get a mental health evaluation. Something is going on if two people like this come from the same genetic line and decide to commit homicide. Really, truly, a terrifying thought.
How awful for the families who lost loved ones in the Uvalde shooting too. They will no doubt hear and see these folks plastered on television in the coming days. Do shooters like this want the infamy that comes with their crimes? What is the purpose for hurting innocent people who have done nothing to them? How does that make their lives better? It doesn’t.
We can only understand the problem of human evil by examining it truthfully in light of the revelation in the Biblical text. People need Jesus more now than ever before. Our mental health care system has failed us. In fact, they might have made the problem worse through over medication. Regardless, allowing people to openly express their religion in private and public schools can have a real positive impact on kids and open up new ways of relating to others.
Let’s just be glad this guy was stopped before he could actually hurt anyone.
